Fortnite Sidekicks Tier List: Ranked From Best To Worst

Fortnite Sidekicks have quickly become one of the most charming additions to the game, giving players a way to bring playful, customizable companions into their matches. Building on the classic Pet Back Blings, they offer more personality and ways to express yourself beyond the lobby.

Whether you’re chasing the cutest companion or simply want a fun buddy to match your favorite Fortnite skin, we’ve ranked all the Sidekicks so you know which ones are worth grabbing.

What Are Sidekicks In Fortnite?

Sidekicks are cosmetic companions in Fortnite and represent an evolution of the original Pets Back Blings.

Instead of sitting on your character’s back, Sidekicks run beside you, can be petted, and react to what happens in-game. Each Sidekick also comes with its own animations, unlockable emotes, and outfits, making them one of the most expressive types of cosmetics in Fortnite.

Sidekicks typically rotate through the Item Shop, so availability changes over time. However, Epic has also included Sidekicks in previous Battle Passes (e.g., Peels in The Simpsons mini-season), though those versions typically don’t return once the Fortnite season ends.

Fortnite Sidekicks Tier List: All Sidekicks Ranked

Our Fortnite Sidekicks tier list is based on the Sidekick wishlist data and community reactions from the third-party community platform Fortnite.gg. We’ve also considered the customization options, creativity, and designs of each Sidekick.

Keep in mind that personal preferences are the most important factor when it comes to choosing a Sidekick, especially since they’re purely cosmetic. That said, this tier list is meant as a general guide to the best choices—not a definitive rule.

Here’s a quick look at our Fortnite Sidekicks tier list:

S-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks

Peels was the only Sidekick to be made available through The Simpsons mini-season Battle Pass and the first companion ever released.

Despite its early debut, the banana dog remains a fan favorite. The design is creative and closely linked to the iconic Peely character, giving Peels a stronger identity than most Sidekicks in Fortnite. Peels also features an adorable unlockable dancing emote with three styles: ripe, underripe, and overripe.

Phantom Guffpup may not offer as many customization options, but it more than makes up for it in personality. The small, dog-like phantom is inspired by the Phantom Guff Halloween skin in Fortnite, and its ghostly, supernatural design instantly sets it apart. The design alone is enough to secure Phantom Guffpup a spot in the S-Tier.

A-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks

The A-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks all feature great designs and generous customization options, offering a variety of forms, ranging from dogs and fish to even a baby velociraptor. The level of personalization is so vast that players have even managed to recreate their real-life pets in the game.

Some examples of these Sidekicks are Bonesy, Spike, Doggo Jr., The Best Cat, and Teacup Chi-Pup, which allow you to change their coat color, fur accents, and eye color. Mothman Jr. is another Sidekick worth mentioning due to its creative design as a mini version of Mothman.

Mothman Jr. retains the same hand-drawn pencil art effects as the original skin, and his cosmetics are slightly different. He’s so small that he can only wear an adorable hat, which makes the design both unique and incredibly cute.

B-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks

Cuddle Team Jr. and Dummy Dog feature creative designs based on existing Fortnite characters (Cuddle Team Leader and Dummy). Still, their customization options aren’t as extensive as those of some other pets. And that’s why we’ve ranked them as B-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks.

Cuddle Team Jr. only has three base colors, which is odd since nearly any rainbow shade would suit its Care Bear-style design. Accent colors also apply only to the gloves and waist strip, while the eyes share the same three options as the fur. Overall, the limited palette feels like a missed opportunity for such a vibrant little Sidekick.

Dummy is one of the more unique dog Sidekicks, but its personalization options fall short. It’s fun that you can customize its crash-test parts, but the final look still feels visually bland—even if you mix and match colors. The rust option is interesting, but not enough to push Dummy Dog higher on this list.

C-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks

Itchy and Plopper are iconic characters from The Simpsons—and it’s very cool to see them integrated into the game. However, we simply can’t justify a higher place for them on our Fortnite Sidekicks tier list due to the lack of associated cosmetics, customization, and their steep price.

For starters, Plopper has only one style (a bandana), two cosmetics, and a belching emote that feels outright disappointing, especially when Epic could have included a Spider-Pig reference from The Simpsons Movie. Itchy isn’t much better, offering a recolored version of his default shirt and an emote, though the axe-sharpening animation is a nice touch.

Understandably, licensed characters come with customization limits (this likely explains why you can’t change their names), but it feels like they needed more unlockables to make up for it. At 1,500 V-Bucks—the most expensive Sidekick tier—they don’t seem worth it, unless you’re a die-hard fan.

D-Tier Fortnite Sidekicks

Leviathan Jr. is the only Fortnite Sidekick that sits in the D-Tier. And admittedly, it does feel a bit mean to put him there. However, there just isn’t much to enjoy about him unless you are a big fan of the Leviathan skin.

The customization is mediocre, and the design is boring, merely replicating the Leviathan fish without adding anything interesting (unlike Flopsticks, who has extra cosmetics and customization).

That said, Leviathan Jr. is a cheaper Sidekick at 1,000 V-Bucks, but unless you’re particularly drawn to this odd little fish, we’d recommend passing on this one.
