Perhaps one of the most dominant Fortnite crossover rumors in circulation in late 2025 was Fortnite x South Park, with leaks originating from reliable data miners. On January 7, 2026, Epic Games officially confirmed the collab, teasing exclusive skins and changes to the Battle Royale map.

In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what you can expect to see from the Fortnite x South Park collaboration.

Is South Park Coming To Fortnite?

Yes. Epic Games confirmed that the rumored South Park x Fortnite collab is official. This was revealed via the “Born In Chaos” trailer, which showed off some of the story behind the collision of the Fortnite and South Park universes.

South Park x Fortnite Release Date

The Fortnite x South Park collaboration will drop on January 9, 2026, immediately after the scheduled server downtime. This is the first major crossover of 2026, so here’s hoping that it kicks off the game’s upcoming year of content in a fun and memorable fashion.

What Is Shown In The South Park Fortnite Collab Trailer?

The trailer, which is partly an animated skit made by South Park Studios (similar to The Simpsons x Fortnite animated shorts), shows the show’s protagonists, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny, all playing Fortnite together.

Despite Butters waiting in the lobby, they do not invite him to join them. When Butters confronts them on the South Park school bus, Cartman tells him that they do not want to play with him because he’s not good at the game.

Butters reveals that he has retrieved the Stick of Truth from Starks Pond (the iconic item from the South Park Stick of Truth video game) and plans to use it to force the boys to play Fortnite with him.

To everyone’s surprise, the stick seems to actually possess magical powers. When Butters points it at the boys, it begins to transform reality, giving the kids mech suits and turning the bus into the Fortnite battle bus.

The stick flies out the window, and that’s where the animated skit ends.

What Does The Fortnite x South Park Crossover Include?

The “Born In Chaos” trailer offers a closer look at what players can expect from the Fortnite x South Park crossover.

South Park Mech Skins

Among the teased content are mech skins for Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, and Butters. Each skin has a unique design that closely reflects its character.

For example, Butters’ mech skin is based on his villainous alter ego Professor Chaos, complete with tin foil decorations and a cape. Cartman, on the other hand, has a mech designed to look like his cardboard robot persona AWESOM-O.

Cartmanland

The Wonkeeland POI is also being transformed into Cartmanland, a theme park featured in an episode of the show.

The Wonkeeland rides will also be turned into South Park-themed rides, such as Pi Pi’s Lazy River. You might want to stay away from that one, though. If you know the South Park episode “Pee,” you’ll know why.

Cheesy Poofs

Cheesy Poofs (a snack from the show) will be added as a consumable with various effects. It restores health and can be eaten while sprinting or hurled at allies to heal them. The snack can also be used as a Fortnite weapon, as it inflicts damage on enemies when thrown at them.

The Stick of Truth

The Stick of Truth seems to be a Mythic item, as the boys are seen fighting for control of it. According to a community thread by Epic Games, the stick is said to have the ability to control the Storm, allowing it to shrink immediately around your position.

While this could be a fun way to eliminate opponents quickly, it also means that everyone in the game will be rushing to get to your position, which will definitely cause some chaos.

Mini Battle Pass

A mini South Park Battle Pass that offers thirteen South Park items will be available completely for free—no V-Bucks necessary. All you have to do to progress through the tiers and start collecting items is to complete South Park-themed quests.

Miscellaneous

Beyond that, there are tons of other nods to South Park debuting in Fortnite.

Kenny’s Respawn Token will enable you to automatically reboot if you die (as Kenny has a habit of doing). Towelie, the pot-smoking, walking-talking towel, is also shown running alongside the boys, suggesting that he will be coming to the Item Shop as a Sidekick in Fortnite

How To Get South Park Skins In Fortnite

While the methods to unlock South Park skins in Fortnite have not been revealed yet, they will most likely be purchasable in the Item Shop with V-Bucks alongside other cosmetics and bundles.

Most of the adult-animation skins released in Fortnite were purchasable for 1,200 or 1,500 V-Bucks (on their own rather than with bundles). However, others like Rick from Rick and Morty, Peter Griffin from Family Guy, and some of The Simpsons skins were Battle Pass-exclusive skins in their seasons.

The blog post does not mention the skins as an unlockable item in the mini Battle Pass, so it’s safe to assume that the Fortnite South Park skins for the boys will be confined to the Item Shop.

Will The Fortnite x South Park Collaboration Be Limited-Time?

Yes. The South Park Fortnite crossover is expected to be a limited-time activation. However, the items would likely return, as most do on a rotating, non-scheduled basis. That said, this will depend on the approval of the IP holder (Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Paramount).

In some cases, Fortnite skins may not be available after the collaboration due to licensing issues. A good example of this is the Fortnite x Arcane skins (specifically Vi and Jinx), which still haven’t returned yet due to complications between Epic Games and Riot Games.

If there are no issues, then the skins will probably return to the game from time to time. If there are issues, it’s impossible to predict when they will return—or if they ever will.
