Dota 2 Regional Roster Shuffle Highlights

With so many transfers and lineup changes happening across all regions, it can be challenging to keep track of all the movements. Here are the most important shuffles we’ve seen:

Veteran Departures

The biggest headline of the Dota 2 post-TI roster shuffle is the retirement of Quinn “Quinn” Callahan and Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi. Quinn, once hailed as the world’s best Dota 2 mid-laner with Gaimin Gladiators in 2023, and Insania, Team Liquid’s TI-winning support, are both stepping away from the pro scene.

Western Europe

Without question, the biggest roster move of the year comes from Team Liquid, who have added former rivals Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard and Erik “tOfu” Engel to the lineup. With these signings, Team Liquid emerges from the Dota 2 team roster shuffle with one of the world’s most experienced squads.

Tundra Esports is also bolstering its lineup, bringing on Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko and Matthew “Ari” Walker. Meanwhile, many Tier 2 teams are stepping up their Dota 2 rosters. Some teams to watch closely include MOUZ, Virtus.pro, and AVULUS, all fielding “Tier 1 rejects” eager to prove themselves again.

Eastern Europe

Two-time TI winners Team Spirit have also shaken up their roster. Captain Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov has stepped down from the roster to take a break. Former Aurora player Nikita “panto” Balaganin will be taking his place.

Following Pure’s transfer to Tundra in the Dota 2 roster shuffle, BetBoom Team welcomed Ilya “Kiritych” Ulyanov as its new carry player. The 22-year-old is currently ranked ninth in the European leaderboards.

After a rough season, Aurora parted ways with Gleb “kiyotaka” Zyryanov and panto, bringing in Rafli “Mikoto” Fathur Rahman and Chan “Oli” Chon Kien from Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, PARIVISION and Natus Vincere have decided to enter 2026 with the same rosters, avoiding any Dota 2 player transfers.

China and Southeast Asia

Despite securing second place at TI14, Xtreme Gaming released Guo “Xm” Hongcheng and Zhao “XinQ” Zixing, replacing them with Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang and Xu “fy” Linsen. The latter is coming out of retirement to form what seems to be one of China’s strongest Dota 2 pro teams.

Legendary Chinese organization Vici Gaming is returning to the scene after a two-year hiatus, welcoming back veterans, including respected leader Ding “Dy” Cong.

Talon Esports’ roster imploded after allegations from Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon that the organization was not paying its players. Since then, former players have dispersed across teams like BOOM Esports, Aurora, and Vici Gaming.

North America

Things are looking bleak for the North American Dota 2 scene. Shopify Rebellion has exited after a series of disappointing results, while Wildcard Gaming, despite representing the region at TI14, has also released its roster. The former Wildcard lineup has stayed together, now playing under the Apex Genesis banner.

What’s Next For The Dota 2 2026 Pro Season?

The 2025 season was extremely competitive, with no clear dominant team. Different squads traded trophies across tournaments, making every event unpredictable and thrilling. With all the Dota 2 roster changes we’ve seen this season, the 2026 campaign is already shaping up to be every bit as explosive.

Just like last year, the Dota 2 calendar will be filled with third-party tournaments organized by ESL, PGL, FISSURE, and BLAST. These organizers will take turns hosting their million-dollar tournaments across the season. As usual, The International 2026 will once again conclude the season.
