DH SC2 Masters 2022 Atlanta Tournament Overview

The DH SC2 Masters 2022 Atlanta is going to be the second of the DreamHack SC2 majors for the ESL Pro tour for 22/23. This is an international event that gives players a decent number of EPT Global Points. It’s one of the bigger tournaments in the StarCraft Pro Tour for this early stage. It’s going to be taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center.

The event has a prize pool of $100,000. That’s alongside the points to get players through to the finals at the end of the season. It starts with multiple rounds of Group Stages. These whittle the competitor down from a big 64 to just the top players active right now.

DH SC2 Masters 2022 Atlanta Group Stage

The first group stage features 64 players in total, being played out in double elimination. Matches are going to be the best of 3 across 16 groups, each having 4 players. They’ll take turns fighting it out against each other. The lower-ranking players move to a knockout Bracket, and the top 2 players advance to the next group stage. The second group stage is played in a similar format but with 8 groups of 4 instead of 16.

The third group stages mixing things up a bit. This is 16 players once again. However, the 16 to come up through the group stages are mixed in with 16 who are joining this stage directly from regionals.

These players are divided into 8 groups of 4 players. It’s another dual-elimination format. This time though the results seeding is a bit more complicated. The players who come in the top 2 move forward, but the rest have different seedings for the next round. First place goes to the playoffs and second place to the next round of playoffs. Third goes to the 4th round of the knockout bracket, and fourth get the 5th round.

Knockout Bracket

The Knockout Bracket is the last stop before the finals. Three group stages are a hefty run though, players can easily fall down to this stage, with only the very top players making it straight through. The Knockout Bracket is the last chance for some of these teams to qualify.

This round is played in 8 single-elimination brackets, with 6 total rounds. As each of the rounds progressed, more players are knocked out entirely or moved forward to the final bracket. That’s where they’ll join the other top players.

DreamHack Atlanta Starcraft Predictions

The DH SC2 event is one of the biggest in winter for StarCraft 2 betting, which players are the ones to watch for the tournament? There are quite a few big names competing, including Clem, Cure, Maru, and Reynor at the tournament. There are a few players that are key to watch at the tournament.

Maru for one is heading in a complete hot streak. He killed it at the Global StarCraft League Season 3 Code S, but he’s overall one of the best players in the whole game. Alongside winning that, he took 2nd at some other majors this year. He is one of the clear favourites.

Zest, Reynor both look strong too. Serral is another, he won IEM Katowice 2022, alongside other tournaments since then. All of these players have been marked out lately, and all are good picks for this event.
