IEM Chengdu 2025 Power Rankings: Playoffs Predictions

In our power rankings for IEM Chengdu 2025, we’ve attempted to predict which six teams from the 16 competing will survive the Group Stage (two GSL-style groups) to compete in the single-elimination Playoffs.

We conducted thorough research, considering a wide range of factors, including player form, past LAN performances, matchup histories, VRS rankings, and the latest bookmaker odds, to create our power rankings for IEM Chengdu 2025.

In our Playoffs predictions and analysis, we use decimal odds (Bet x Odds = Payout), but also provide American odds and the implied probability. Odds play a crucial role in accurately determining a team’s strength, as they represent a bookmaker’s confidence in an outcome occurring.

Team Vitality (#1)

After seven consecutive S-Tier LAN event wins and a BLAST.tv Austin Major trophy to close out early 2025, Team Vitality hit a slump—but only by their own lofty standards.

At ESL Pro League Season 22, Team Vitality ended a trophy drought that lasted nearly four months, defeating Team Falcons with a clean 3-0 in the Grand Final. To make their deep run, the French titans pulled off two reverse sweeps, first against FURIA and then FaZe Clan.

Odds of 3.20 (+220) reflect an implied probability of 31.25% for Team Vitality to lift the IEM Chengdu 2025 trophy. The squad is currently ranked #2 on the VRS due to FURIA’s recent success, but is by far the #1 team on the HLTV World Rankings.

With French superstar AWPer Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut in frightening form and Estonian rifler Robin “ropz” Kool’s electrifying plays lighting up the server, Team Vitality is our top pick to win IEM Chengdu 2025.

Team Vitality roster:

  • Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
  • Robin “ropz” Kool
  • Shahar “flameZ” Shushan
  • William “mezii” Merriman
  • Dan “apEX” Madesclaire (IGL)
  • Danny “zonic” Sørensen (Coach)

Team Falcons (#2)

Team Falcons (ranked #3 in the VRS) field one of the most stacked lineups in CS2. On paper, they’re built for deep playoff runs at nearly every event. What’s more, the off-season signing of 17-year-old wonderkid Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin only strengthens their status as title contenders.

Odds of 5.00 (+400) make Team Falcons one of the favorites to go all the way, with an implied probability of 20% to lift the IEM Chengdu 2025 trophy. We ranked them #2 ahead of Team Spirit and FURIA, thanks mainly to their strong runner-up finish at ESL Pro League Season 22.

Notably, AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov found his form at the recent event, and we named him our MVP for his chart-topping performance, despite losing to Team Vitality in the Grand Final.

Team Falcons roster:

  • Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
  • René “TeSeS” Madsen
  • Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
  • Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin
  • Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski (IGL)
  • Danny “zonic” Sørensen (Coach)

Team Spirit (#3)

Team Spirit couldn’t make it out of the Group Stage at BLAST Open London 2025 and fell short of greatness at ESL Pro League Season 22, losing 2-0 to FaZe Clan. However, they are still ranked #7 on the VRS, and the team’s recent lackluster results may be attributed to a roster change.

Odds of 5.00 (+400) signal an implied probability of 20% for Team Spirit to win the entire event, showcasing bookmaker confidence in the squad’s chances of success.

If Team Spirit had enough time to sync with new Belarusian rifler Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich (replacing Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia), a podium finish at IEM Chengdu 2025 is within reach. After all, the 2024 Player of the Year, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, could propel the squad to victory if he’s on form.

Team Spirit roster:

  • Danil “donk” Kryshkovets
  • Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov
  • Ivan “zweih” Gogin
  • Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich
  • Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov (IGL)
  • Sergey “hally” Shavayev (Coach)

FURIA (#4)

Brazilian powerhouse FURIA, led by two-time CS Major Championship winner Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, is on fire. The squad posted fantastic recent results on LAN, winning the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 on October 19 (which we predicted) and the FISSURE Playground 2 on September 21.

Despite holding the #1 VRS ranking, odds of 5.80 (+480) imply only a 17.24% chance of FURIA lifting the IEM Chengdu 2025 trophy. The gap between odds and ranking likely comes from many other top teams being absent from both the recent LAN events FURIA won.

However, if Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato and Danil “molodoy” Golubenko can keep up their MVP-winning form, FURIA might just shock the favorites.

FURIA roster:

  • Yuri “yuurih” Boian
  • Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato
  • Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis
  • Danil “molodoy” Golubenko
  • Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo (IGL)
  • Sidnei “sidde” Macedo (Coach)

MOUZ (#5)

MOUZ is the only team in our power rankings that competed at IEM Chengdu 2024. They are looking to repeat—or possibly build on—their success at last year’s event, where they reached the Grand Final before losing 2-0 to FaZe Clan.

Odds of 7.00 (+600) suggest that MOUZ has a 14.29% chance of winning IEM Chengdu 2025. The team is currently ranked #6 on the VRS, with notable recent results including a 2nd-place finish at IEM Cologne 2025 and 3rd place at ESL Pro League Season 22.

If 19-year-old Swedish rifler Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo can put up another star performance and top the charts (1.32 rating at IEM Chengdu 2024), MOUZ might just have the firepower to make a deep run.

MOUZ roster:

  • Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás
  • Dorian “xertioN” Berman
  • Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo
  • Lotan “Spinx” Giladi
  • Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin (IGL)
  • Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen (Coach)

The squad narrowly lost to MOUZ, suffering a 2-1 reverse sweep in the Quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 22, and recently claimed a 2nd place finish at the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 in Malta.

Considering NAVI’s recent performances and VRS ranking of #5, bookmakers might be undervaluing the team’s form. Odds of 10.00 (+900) signal a 10% implied probability of NAVI being victorious at IEM Chengdu 2025.

If the headshot machine that is Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi can find his form and new recruit Drin “makazze” Shaqiri can shine like he did at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025, NAVI could go all the way at IEM Chengdu 2025.

NAVI roster:

  • Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi
  • Mihai “iM” Ivan
  • Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov
  • Drin “makazze” Shaqiri
  • Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen (IGL)
  • Andrii “B1ad3” Horodenskyi (Coach)

Please note: Despite odds of 7.00 (+600) signaling a relatively high 14.29% chance of The MongolZ lifting the IEM Chengdu 2025 trophy, we didn’t include them in our power rankings. With star player Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold on the bench since October 22’s shock move, The MongolZ’s performance with a stand-in could be volatile.
