The favorites for VALORANT Champions 2025

Almost every qualified VALORANT team has a clear shot at the title. The rapid nature of the game makes it hard to predict which team will come out on top. One or two bad matches can eliminate a great team from the tournament. However, Sentinels and G2 Esports from the Americas region have a solid combination and consistent performance to back it.
Team Liquid and Fnatic from EMEA are both performing well in their region, boasting strong team compositions. In the Chinese region, Bilibili Gaming and Dragon Ranger Gaming are performing well. Paper Rex and T1 from the Pacific are the top contenders from the Pacific region. However, Paper Rex or G2 Esports could be the favorites in the VALORANT Champions 2025 tournament.
Paper Rex
Paper Rex is the first club from the Pacific region to qualify for VALORANT Champions 2025. The team is currently among the top favorites to lift the trophy this year. They are on a good roll, too, winning the Masters in Toronto by a good margin. The team would be in high spirits, having just ended a five-year title drought. With the top three players advancing to Stage 1 of the regional league, Paper Rex could dominate the competition in the big event as well.
G2 Esports
G2 Esports is the first team to qualify for Champions Paris thanks to an impressive lead in the Americas Tour points. Nathan “leaf” Orf and his clan had a great run this year. The team finished first in Stage 1 and the Kickoff, secured second place at the Bangkok Masters, and remained in the top 4 at the Toronto Masters. The team is considered a heavy favorite entering the VALORANT Champions 2025.
Fnatic
Despite losing the VALORANT Masters Toronto finals, Team Fnatic remains one of the top favorite teams to enter Champions 2025. The team was the third to secure its qualification for the Champions Paris 2025 and the first from the EMEA region. The British team had a tough run this year. After coming second in the Masters, they also lost to Team Heretics at the Esports World Cup.

History of VALORANT Champions

VALORANT Champions began in 2021 as the culmination of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT). The Tour included a tier-based match system that sifted through regional talent and lifted them to the world stage.
The VCT format is evolving; it initially started as a third-tier system (Champions, Masters, Challengers) and was later transformed into three international leagues (Americas, EMEA, Pacific) in 2023. A fourth China League was added in 2024 to make it a truly global event.
Acend won the first Champions set in Berlin in 2021. In 2022, LOUD took the title in Istanbul, followed by Evil Geniuses winning in Los Angeles the following year. The last 2024 Champions were EDward Gaming in Seoul.
