What to Expect at DreamHack Fighters Dallas

The DreamHack series has grown loads in recent years, now even being a major part of the fighting game esports calendar. This upcoming event, DreamHack Dallas fighters, is one of the biggest we’ve seen so far. Especially for fans of Street Fighter 6 and Tekken.

These 2 events are just a couple out of loads of games featured at DreamHack Dallas. Most of the best fighting games are here. However, a handful are qualifiers for some other major events on the horizon. What’s happening at DreamHack Dallas Fighters and how can you follow along?

DreamHack Dallas Fighters

DreamHack Dallas is a cross-game esports event taking place over May 31-June 2nd. It’s a celebrating of all the biggest esports, with quite a few fighting games featured. Across the entire event, we’ll see full events take place for loads of fighters.

Two of these tournaments are going to serve as qualifiers for the Esports World Cup. Players who perform here can earn their slots at the Tekken 8 EWC and Street Fighter 6 EWC tournaments. However, there’s a few more games featured at Dallas too.

  • Guilty Gear Strive
  • Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising
  • Under Night Birth by Sleep
  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Across these events, we’ve got the three biggest fighting game franchises, along with three big anime fighters. It’s a decent spread of events and it’ll give fans of all sides of fighting games something to chew on over the weekend.

The format for these events is relatively simple, there’s an opening pools round where we see all the competitors compete. These are narrowed down eventually to a Top 8. Each game is being played with the same format, but the stakes are a little higher for Tekken and Street Fighter.

Esports World Cup Qualifiers

The DreamHack Dallas fighters tournaments are all going to be fun, but Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 are serving as qualifiers for wider tournaments. As well as the prize pool, the top-ranking players in both games will move forward to the World Cup, which carries a prize pool in the millions. The entire top 8 for Street Fighter 6 and Tekken will be moving forwarding to the World Cup, making this a vital tournament for players’ journey there.
