Street Fighter 6 EWC 2024 Preview

In competitive fighting games, Street Fighter 6 has had a stand-out year, growing to new heights off a huge Capcom Cup. We’re getting another Pro Tour this year, but Street Fighter 6 EWC 2024 is going to be a huge tournament too. This is an event with a prize pool on the same level as the Capcom Cup, but all happening in a single weekend rather than a lengthy year-long circuit.

Along with Tekken 8 at the EWC, Street Fighter 6 is going to be one of the biggest fighting games at this event. The tournament has expanded to better represent esports this year, being a truly international event showing off everything professional gaming does. How will Street Fighter 6 at the EWC 2024 work? We’ve got all the key details about this new tournament.

Street Fighter 6 Player Count

Street Fighter 6 EWC 2024

The Street Fighter 6 tournament will be one of the biggest at the Esports World Cup in 2024. The tournament has a unique format compared to what we normally see for this title though. It’s a three-phase tournament, with a different qualification and bracket system to most.

The event begins with the first group stage. Here there’s 32 different players who compete in groups of 4. The top 16 move forward to a second group stage. This will narrow things down further to just a Top 8. Then, we get the final bracket. The Top 8 is a bit different here though, with a single elimination format. Once a player is knocked out, it’s over. There’s no losers bracket here.
