What to Expect at the FNCS Major 2 Semi-Finals
The FNCS Major 2 tournament is kicking off this weekend. While we’re not quite at the finals yet, the FNCS Major 2 Semi-Finals are the last call for competitors. They’ll need to perform this weekend if they want to make it into the finals, and get a shot at going to the Grand Royale. How exactly will the FNCS work this weekend?
The Fortnite Champion Series is an international event, with wide tournaments across each region. We get a few weeks of qualifiers, but it’s these semi-finals that decide the last players making it to the FNCS Finals. The finals have a single lobby consisting of just the best players. Anyone hoping to attend will have to nail the sessions over this weekend.

FNCS Major 2 Semi-Finals Format
The FNCS Semi-Finals are our final regular week before this Major concludes. The format for it is broken up into two halves. There are the Lower Semis and Upper Semis, depending on how many points players clocked up on the leaderboard in earlier rounds.
The tournament is over 3 days of competition, a bit longer than our eventual finals. The Upper round consists of those in the top 50 places on the leaderboard, playing five matches. The winners in each head straight to the Grand Finals. The others earn points for a leaderboard. Once the matches are done, the top 25 all move forward. The others have to re-secure their place against the lower bracket.
The lower ranking 26-50th Duos will move down to the Lower Semis round. Here they compete with Duos who placed lower in qualifiers. They’ll need to manage to place in the top side of the lobby, then they get another chance in a second Upper Semis round. Then, again in the final round.
Once that’s completed, we have our payers locked in for the Grand Finals. The FNCS Major 2 Semi-Finals will be an interesting few days. Some of the best Fortnite players are still securing their spots, so anything can happen through these three days of events.
New Skin for the FNCS

Something that’ll excite collectors of all Fortnite skins is a brand-new bundle to celebrate the FNCS Major 2 Semi-Finals. This is the Champion Siren skin. There’s something particularly strange about it too.
FNCS skins are typically reskins of characters who already exist. New versions and designs on the same model. Siren is an interesting base to use though. It’s one of those skins that is arguably banned by Epic. The original design took inspiration from some old-fashioned military figures. It wasn’t the intention, but the outcome was the skin looked like an officer from a particularly heinous 1940s regime. Epic noticed the similarity and hasn’t brought her back since.
Since Lego Fortnite was added, the skin has received a Lego version. However, it specifically has one that can’t be used in the Fortnite item shop, meaning it won’t be coming back anytime soon. This new Champion Siren is a rare chance to get a version of this skin! It’s fun to see this base skin finally reused for the FNCS Major 2 Semi-Finals.
