In today’s Fortnite esports, there’s one player whose name comes up far more often than anything else; Peterbot. Arguably the best Fortnite player, but who is Peterbot?
At last year’s FNCS Global Championship, every winner from Chapter 5’s competitive events was in one place. However, the Peterbot and Pollo duo dominated and claimed victory. Both contributed immensely to this win, including Pollo’s performance. However, if you were to pick an MVP of the tournament it would be hard to argue with Peterbot. His huge kill numbers, impressive solo performance in the 11th deciding game, it’s all made him the latest face of Fortnite competitive.
Moving into Chapter 6 esports, the game has changed. The Duo is now split between two Trios, and Peterbot just lost out on victory in Major 1. In Major 2, he took the win and reclaimed his champion slot. Following that up with another win at the Pro-AM LAN.
In his old Duo and new Trio, Peterbot is clearly one of the strongest players to ever compete in Fortnite. He’s particular captured the viewer’s attention for his less-than-humble reactions throughout his major wins. Who is Peterbot, how old is he, and how high do Peterbot’s earnings go now with multiple seasons at the peak of the game?
With multiple FNCS Major wins, the Global Championship, and tons of cash cups and other tournaments along the way, it might beg the question of just how much money Peterbot has earned from Fortnite esports tournaments.
At best estimates, Peterbot has at least $977,443 in Fortnite earnings! A good part of that has been earned in the last few FNCS tournaments. Peterbot’s earnings in Fortnite show just how much players can make being skilled at this game. It doesn’t even take into account income from streaming, videos, and other revenue sources open to those who have the highest skill in the game.
A big contributor is winning 2 LANs. The Pro-Am might have been a half amateur tournament but its prize pool was still sizeable. Then there’s the mass of FNCS wins. With his slot at the next LAN confirmed too, the Peterbot earnings could go even higher in the future too! We’ll definitely see him cross the million in earnings line pretty soon.

With his win in the international LAN lobby, the safest ranking would probably put Peterbot and Pollo together at Number 1 up until Chapter 6 began. While Peterbot did have better showings playing solo at the event and higher kill counts, things went differently after they separated.
Pollo’s team won the first Major of Chapter 6. Peterbot very nearly clawed his way back to Victory on Day two. However, a better team synergy in general put Pollo’s squad on top. From this tournament, a fair reading would be that Pollo’s team might have been the better Trio, but Peterbot was the best individual player in a team game.
The disparity was nearly rectified in Major 2, with the duo reuniting. But a change of rules required all parties to agree to break up their trios for the sake of reuniting Peterbot and Pollo, so the once again stuck with their separate Trios. In this final, Pollo wasn’t the same rival. Instead, Peterbot rode to a huge 1st place finish. His main competition this time was the Clix Trio, but it was Peterbot who won and claimed another FNCS title.
Even up until the recent LAN, not everyone was convinced. Fans have accused Peterbot of using Fortnite cheating software for a long time, his performance live has shown it wasn’t software though, but raw skill from the player. His performances are on such a level that even those familiar with competitive Fortnite have accused them of being impossible. He’s now won two LANs, which surely must silence even the most sceptical of doubters.

One other factor for his performance in a lot of events was Peterbot’s drop spot. He drops on the best Mythic gun in the game, goes for the Medallion he wants. He does get the best loot. However, this isn’t really a mark against him being the best Fortnite player. Anyone is free to contest him.
The fact that they didn’t, showed the lobby of great players didn’t like the odds of surviving a contested drop against him. Peterbot gets the best stuff because he’s the most threatening players in the lobby. No one was willing to sacrifice an entire game at 0 points just to prove a point. We saw a brief reversal on this for Chapter 6 Season 1, as Clix’s team forced him back off the Medallion island. Across lobbies though, it’s not uncommon to see the top players in the world backing off at the sight of Peterbot.
Peterbot sometimes even weaponizes this ability to make players run. In the C6 S2 FNCS, he broke off from his rotation early to directly push the team clipping at his heals on the leaderboard. Forcing an earlier fight. By taking the fight directly to the only team capable of catching up in points, Peterbot’s trio ended the tournament before the final game even whittled down to the final circles.
He could be the best player in the game, but what is his set-up? Just because you use the Peterbot mouse it doesn’t mean you’ll play like him. He’s become the best player in the game, but how did Peterbot get here? Like most in Fortnite, it probably began by checking out the Battle Royale game that’s become the biggest thing in gaming when it first released years ago.
He’s been competing since 2020. With his earliest results being some standard placements in events like Cash Cups and Frosty Frenzy. He failed to qualify for the FNCS a few times in early Chapter 2. However, he began winning cash cups by Chapter 2 Season 7, and qualifying then even placing decently in the finals.
Then, these Cash Cup wins started getting more and more common. By the time of the FNCS 2021 Grand Royale, he came in 4th for North America East. He picked up a win in the FNCS for Chapter 3 Season 2, and put an incredible grind in through 2022. It paid off. In 2023, he continued to win FNCS events, but the big breakthrough came in Chapter 5. Starting in the second season, it became the Peterbot and Pollo show every season. Second in Major 1, winner of Major 2, Major 3, and then the Grand Royale. Before taking the Pro-Am in 2025 and Major 2. His rise up the ranks has been quick.
Like most Fortnite pros, Peterbot is known by his moniker in-game. But what is Peterbot’s real name? His real name is Peter Kata.
Unlike a lot of players, there’s at least a link to his real name! The bot bit might even be a playful dig at all those early accusations that he was aimbotting.
Peterbot is the latest player to be catapulted to global recognition since his win at this year’s FNCS tournament. Fortnite has a reputation for young players dominating. If you’re wondering how old is Peterbot, he’s only 17 years of age.
While 17, he’s had long enough to have quite an established history in competitive Fortnite though. The player first signed with an org in 2021 and has been competing since. In Chapter 5, he really started to show he’s one of the best Fortnite players. Along with Pollo, he won back-to-back Majors in the FNCS, even before taking the champion’s crown at the FNCS Global Championship. In 2025, he’s won even more Majors and is the player to beat at the LAN.
