Gambit looks to maintain Katowice form at ESL Pro League Season 13
We are already quite deep in ESL Pro League Season 13. To be honest, there were quite a few surprises and if you were hunting for underdog odds, you landed in profit for sure. In this piece, we are going to breakdown the ESL Pro League Season 12 group C and Gambit’s hope to keep their Katowice momentum forward.
ESL Pro League Season 13 Group C Analysis
First and foremost, let’s go over the facts. 6 teams will battle it out in the single round-robin group. A team that finishes at #1, advances directly to the Play-In where they will wait for seeding. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams will advance to the knockout stage “Round of 12” where they will look for their chance to advances further in the event. Bear in mind that all of the matches are played in the best of 3 format.
We did a short recap of our expectations for the entire event in our ESL Pro League Season 13 tournament guide. So far, underdogs have exceeded expectations and established favorites struggle to make ends meet. We are confident Group C will break this pattern, and resolve itself as predicted through and through.
For clarity the six teams in Group C are:
- Cloud9
- FURIA Esports
- Gambit Esports
- MiBR
- Natus Vincere
- Team One
Gambit with a potential clean sweep
All aboard the Gambit hype train after Hobbit and Sh1ro managed to outclass the entire CSGO pro scene in one swoop at IEM Katowice. It has been a long time coming for the former Gambit Youngsters squad. They grinded out their stars and stripes at events like Eden Malta Vibes and Nine to Five, only we the true esports community follows.
Ever since acquiring Abay “Hobbit” Khassenov the team is looking better at each consecutive event they play. ESL Pro League Season 13 is no different, as they are one of the main favorites to win the entire thing. The CSGO betting odds reflect this however, meaning your betting on Gambit can only be worthwhile in the later stages of the event.
In their own group, they are likely winning four out of five matches. Only Natus Vincere is a potential challenger. As for the rest, we will do our match predictions in our main ESL Pro League Betting Odds article, but keep in mind this group is all about the CIS teams.
ESL Pro League Group C Match Predictions
Group C of ESL Pro League Season 13 starts on March 19th. Three matches are played on opening day and all three are supposed to be pretty one sided.
Below is a short recap, and our expected result in each individual matchup.
Gambit vs MiBR
After winning IEM Katowice 2021, it is hard not to be high on Gambit. They played insanely well. When you think of it, most of their players are young guns who are not in their prime yet so the ceiling for this roster is sky-high. So far, they seem to only struggles on Inferno and Vertigo, but mostly due to their aggro playstyle that they haven’t honed in on yet. In this duel, they are likely not dropping a single map.
MiBR as an org can’t find its footing and constant roster changes are not helping. Over the past two months, mibr has lost to every relevant team in the scene except Fnatic, and this trend is likely continuing ar Pro League. The conclusion here is simple, Gambit wins this easily. Sadly, odds reflect that.
Prediction – Gambit wins 2:0
Natus Vincere vs Cloud9
If you have been following Natus Vincere, then you noticed that in most cases, they have a poor start to the event and they pick up their form later on. We believe that this could be a factor here as well and odds are more than rewarding.
Do not get me wrong, Natus Vincere should win this match easily, especially because Cloud9 is not even close to being on their level. However, if players like mezii or es3tag have a solid game, things could go sideways for Natus Vincere. The value is here at the massive odds offered by GG.BET, there is no way that you miss out on placing a small bet on Cloud9.
However, we do still stand on the opinion that NaVi should win this match, but a 4x return on C9 is good even for a value bet.
Prediction – NaVi to win 2:0 (Potential value bet on C9 due to high odds)
FURIA vs TeamOne
It has been a while since we have seen a true Brazilian derby. There is no denying that FURIA is by far the best CSGO team in Brazil. On the other hand, TeamOne has been doing just fine regionally, but on the global stage, they struggled both individually and as a team. They can not compete against the best teams in the world, but in a regional battle they might have a shot.
From our point of view, this should be an easy game for FURIA. However, odds on match-winner are not going to cut it as they are very low hence why we are opting in for the 2-1 victory. We do believe TeamOne has what it takes to steal a map from KSCERATO and co.
Prediction – FURIA to win 2:1
In the end, if you are looking to place bets based on this predictions, GG.BET will give you 11.27x return on your investment if you follow the main predictions, and a 4.45x return if you want to make a value bet on Cloud9.
Opening matches are set to begin March 19, 2021 – 12:00 CET.
