Best Bot Lane Champions in Patch 25.10
Marksmen are the most fragile role, playing in a 2v2 lane, being fully specced into offense, and relying on another person to help ensure their safety. But they’re also the most reliable pathway to victory.
However, ADCs are only one of two options for bot lane picks. And while marksmen are by far the more common choice, mages are also among the best champions for bot lane.
But whether you’re looking to expand your horizons or prefer to stick to the tried-and-true ADC option, picking the right champions for bot lane will go a long way towards winning and climbing. So here is our League of Legends bot lane tier list!

Best Mages for Bot Lane
Preface on Mages
This set of mages always performs between well and really well in bot lane, and so the D tier is empty when aligning their power level to that of the marksmen. Mages work even better if they’re paired with an ADC elsewhere in the team, like a jungle Kindred or a top lane Vayne.
They function by having more poke and more burst than marksmen (and avoiding long trades where they’d lose out to them, Karthus and Cassiopeia excepted).
As such, the explanations for the tier list will only be focused on the ADC options, since the difference between an S tier mage and a C tier one is just that the former will do a better job at poking and bursting than the latter (in most cases).
Z-Tier: Jinx, Lucian, Karthus, Swain, Veigar

Jinx is and will always be a menace. If left unchecked, she will cause chaos for the enemy team purely because a snowballing Jinx is virtually unstoppable. She’s always a candidate for one of the best bot lane champions, and as soon as her counters get nerfed, the top of the tier list welcomes her.
Right on the other side of the spectrum is Lucian. While not as ‘snowbally’ as Jinx, he is one of the best bot lane champions to take an early lead and turn it into a quick win. He also happens to be a great answer to the other Z-tier ADCs!
It’s important to note, however, that Lucian relies on snowballing and can’t afford to leave the lane without a valuable payoff. In order to achieve that, it’s crucial to pick him with specific supports to be effective.
S-Tier: Miss Fortune, Smolder, Viktor

A big surprise is Smolder’s return to the bot lane thanks to his 25.10 buffs and more specifically, crit build enhancements. The dragon is just looking to quietly farm stacks for 20 minutes, but he does so with consistency. And once he’s stacked up, he’s a teamfight threat like few other marksmen.
Speaking of teamfight threats, joining him in S-Tier is Miss Fortune! One of the easiest ADCs to learn, Miss Fortune offers the flexibility of being both a DPS attack-based champion, and a “delete-your-team” R button. Strong lane, strong teamfights, burst of speed – almost like a discount Jinx.
A-Tier: Kog’Maw, Twitch, Jhin, Heimerdinger, Hwei, Cassiopeia

These bot lane champions do their thing and they do it well. Kog’Maw is the premier on-hit marksman, Twitch is the assassin of both isolated targets and entire teams, and Jhin is the lane assurance with long-range damage and utility.
Their perks just don’t translate into wins quite as well as the S-Tier champions do, but if you’re looking for their respective niches, don’t look any further; they’ll do the job perfectly.
B-Tier: Tristana, Xerath, Seraphine

Tristana is a weird champion – she is similar to Lucian, but trades a worse mid game for a better late game and the ability to destroy turrets in seconds. And it just turns out that Lucian’s side of the deal currently works better, bumping her down the tier list. Xerath is hampered by terrible mobility, while Seraphine hasn’t been the same for a while now. Still, all three can be useful against certain team comps.
C-Tier: Aphelios, Samira, Ashe, Kai’Sa, Xayah, Brand, Ziggs

These champions are all perfectly viable, but they’re nowhere near impressive in the current patch. Ashe and Kai’Sa are currently in pro play jail – Ashe has too much of her strength budget put into her map control and Kai’Sa is picked to immediately join engages from far away. These two properties are why you’ll see them shine in pro play, but we mortals can’t use them efficiently in solo queue.
As for Aphelios, Samira, and Xayah, they’re solely here to deal damage and they don’t quite deal enough for them to be great options above the others.
D-Tier: Ezreal, Kalista, Draven, Sivir, Senna, Varus

Same problems are above – but worse! All of these are champions that won’t do enough in solo queue, even when simultaneously being good in competitive. Most of them can also give the illusion that you’re doing good (through a decent KDA, for example), while you’re in fact not doing enough to make your impact matter. These champions may need some buffs soon to make them viable in solo queue again.
“For Mains Only”: Caitlyn, Corki, Vayne, Zeri, Nilah

A special tier here, let me explain!
All of these champions are in a good state, and can do great with consistency. However, they have a high skill ceiling. This means that you may know everything about the champion, but there’s always a little bit extra to extract. And just one misstep can spell disaster for your team because these champions rely on getting fed.
Any one of these five champions will not be good when played by someone who doesn’t know them. But if you want to spend the time to learn them, they’ll then be very solid picks on this patch (and will probably remain so for a few more weeks at the very least).
For example, Nilah could have belonged in S-Tier. But if you decided to pick her just because she’s in a high tier, you would have most likely done very poorly as a result. They’re long-term investments and have the greatest impact when played by a player who considers them his or her main.
