Snow Sweet Snow 3 and key storylines developing at the event

Just a few days after their last event ended, Relog Media is back with Snow Sweet Snow #3. A tournament that sees 32 teams fight for a 100,000$ prize pool. Since it is a league, the event will stretch out over the course of three weeks and culminate in a battle for the 40,000$ prize for first place.

Snow Sweet Snow #3 is considered an A-Tier tournament by Liquipedia, who describes it as a tournament that will “feature a large prize pool and a good amount of top teams.” Even though the tournament will only feature one team in the top 30, there are still some interesting storylines to keep an eye on. If you are interested in CSGO betting, these teams are worth paying attention to.

Snow Sweet Snow 3 Regional Group Stage Favorites

All matchups throughout the event will be played in a best of three format, giving an edge to the better teams due to no possibility of a best of one upset. There will be four stages to this event, starting with a 32 team regional group stage and will move into the Swiss System in the following stages. It will surely be a slog for all teams that advance, giving the viewers a lot of Counter Strike to watch.

It’s a long event and digging into each individual group is hardly worth your read. CSGO odds are not favorable enough to track down individual storylines in most groups, therefore, we are selecting three teams that worth keep an eye on and betting on.

Copenhagen Flames – Being the favorite in a tournament can come with a significant weight on your shoulders. Having only recently hit the top 30 on the HLTV world rankings, they are the only team in this contest thus far to find themselves on that list. They will be tested on whether or not they can handle the pressure of being the highest ranked team as well as the overall favorite. At Snow Sweet Snow 2, they went as far as Semifinals, but ultimately fell short to champions AGO.

K23 – is another team worth keeping an eye on. 2017 Krakow Major winners Adren and Mou look to make a resurgence in the CIS region. On paper, K23 are the best team in their group. Their experience will surely help them in a tournament like this one. Recent performances at the DreamHack Masters Spring qualifiers reflect their good shape they are in.

ALTERNATE aTTaX is suddenly making a resurgence after acquiring entry-fragger David “prosus” Hesse a week ago. The new roster looks good in their initial matches and newfound momentum is likely carrying over into this event. They are likely coming out of the Western European Group even though the odds might be deceiving at first.

Polish Brawl for the ages

Three teams all equal in rating and fragging power fighting over a path into the Regional Swiss Stage. The Polish Group is a true treat for all CS:GO fans.

Wisla Krakow is coming in as a potential dark horse, this lineup won the fifth 9to5 Cup in late 2020, taking best of three victories against K23, Sprout and Mad Lions, which is no small feat. With a steady decline in their results since that victory, can this lineup pull it together in what looks to be a long road to the top? They will be looking to take revenge on Illuminar Gaming, who beat them in the final of a recent ESEA Cash Cup.

Illuminar Gaming and their newly formed lineup that came together a month ago also looks to shake things up as well. They were too fresh off the boat to win out at Snow Sweet Snow 2, but have since went on to post good results overall. They were able to hold out evenly versus Wisla Krakow, Honoris and Izako Boars recently, all of which are their opponents at the event.

Honoris needs no introduction. Once again Neo and Taz seek to find success in 2021, with a chip on their shoulder after a poor showing at Snow Sweet Snow #2. The legendary veteran players look to lead a team of up and comers to their first tournament victory this year and a good showing at this tournament could set them up to breakout into the top 30.

With the invited teams for the Main Swiss Stage and the Playoffs still unannounced, more excitement will surely be generated once some higher profile lineups come to compete for the prize. As teams get eliminated from ESL Pro League S13, they are likely receiving offers to join Snow Sweet Snow 3 in the Playoffs.

Watch out for some real bangers in the later stages of this event.
