Fortnite Server Status | Is Fortnite Down Right Now?

Sometimes you’ll get bouts of unplayable lag while you’re in game, which has you wondering if the servers are going through some trouble, making it hard to win Fortnite games. And that’s if you’re even able to log in.

If you’re experiencing difficulties logging into the game or got disconnected during a round or match, it could be caused by a server outage.

Find out if it’s a connection issue

First thing to know when checking for server issues is to make sure its not that you’re having connection problems. On the PC side of things, this could be checking for a Windows update, and/or making sure that Fortnite doesn’t have any missed updates in your Epic Games Launcher.

Updating Windows can solve many problems that you may have with the game, including installation, connection, and launch issues. This can also improve your PC’s overall performance.

For console players, if the game and console are showing no updates and there’s no reported outages, you may need to reinstall your game.

The official Fortnite X/Twitter will have updates on whether the server is down, or experiencing issues. For scheduled maintenance times, you will get an error message that lets you know the game is unavailable the specified period.

Epic Games do occasionally take down the game for maintenance, and Fortnite updates.

However if there’s no official word of a downtime for maintenance, the best way to find out what’s causing your connection issues, is to check Epic Games’ technical support FAQs, and try to fix your problem.
