League Patch 13.7 Notes
After pushing out big patch notes for the last couple of months, Riot released a “smaller” Patch 13.6. Despite the low amount of changes, they might be quite impactful, considering they hit some of the most popular champions like Aurelion Sol.
Furthermore, we have Milio finally jumping on Summoner’s Rift on the live servers: it will be exciting to see how quickly players can master the champion and be successful down in the bottom lane.
Notable:
Leaning into W max for Azir and putting more power budget into his sustained damage outputs over poke.
Veigar changes to bias him more towards Mid and not Bot (lvl scaling).
Nerf to Thresh CC chain. Adjustments to Kha isolation vs W evolve.

UPDATE (Mar. 28th): Game Designer Riot Phroxzon revealed which changes the dev team is currently working on. According to them, the meta is “close”, but they are bringing some adjustments to nerf some of the best-performing champions, especially in the jungle pool.
UPDATE (Mar. 29th): Full Patch preview changes added with numbers.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?
Riot is mainly looking to nerf some of the champions that have dominated the meta over the last two patches, while also tagging some of the more popular champions in professional play. Sejuani and Vi are getting heavily hit in this patch so we might see them fall out of meta soon.
The Wukong and Lee Sin changes aren’t going to be that influential. They will still be good picks overall, especially considering Death’s Dance getting reverted. Be on the lookout for Graves: he’s going to make a return in solo queue.
The Veigar nerfs are quite substantial, especially considering the highest cost of his core early-game component (catalyst of Aeons). His win rate might take a big hit.
The Annie nerf is going to hit support Annie rather than her mid version. Interesting to see whether Katarina’s buffs will push her into top-tier territory.
Azir, on the other hand, is still an unknown quantity: we will have to see how players respond to the new changes.

Competitive changes
In Ranked Solo and Ranked Flex queues, normal surrender (4 out of 5 OR 70% of team members must agree to pass the vote) is available at 20 minutes ⇒ 15 minutes. Unanimous early surrender requirement has been removed. This change will go live around ~7pm UTC on Apr. 7th.
We’ll be running an experiment in Normal Draft in EUN, OC, and RU during the 13.7 patch cycle, specifically to test some of our functionality around matchmaking for the upcoming Quick Play queue type. For these regions during the testing window, the changes will be as follows:
- Autofill is removed.
- All players in a party must choose unique primary assignments.
- If a player chooses a priority role as their primary assignment, they do not need to pick a secondary assignment. If they choose a non-priority role as their primary assignment, they can only choose a priority role or fill as their secondary assignment.
