Milio – the new LoL champion will be an enchanter from Ixtal

According to the 2022 August champion roadmap, the new champion will be the first-ever enchanter male champion. He’s going to be a support and will come from Ixtal. Called by Riot Games ‘cute’ support, it’s likely going to be a young boy that will use fire as his main theme or unique element. Inspired by Scorbunny evolutions from Pokemon, it will be exciting to see how Riot will tackle his design.

What’s most important about the new league champion is that Riot is looking to give him a much more user-friendly and straightforward kit compared to the latest releases. In 2022, most of the champions that came out were fairly hard to learn and master, so this might be a refreshing kit to play.

When will the Milio be released?

Riot Games introduced Milio to the League universe, releasing a short biography and a collection of letters.

“Milio’s story started generations ago with his grandmother Lupé, and her twin sister, Luné—two elemental masters who wove their respective earth and fire axioms together to overcome the Vidalion’s trials and join the Yun Tal. But after Luné was caught plotting against the Yun Tal, both sisters were convicted of her crime and punished as twins. Lupé was banished to the farthest reaches of Ixtal and Luné all but vanished, taking with her the last of Lupé’s trust.”

When Milio became old enough, Lupé tried to teach her grandson the axiomata. Even though Milio struggled to grasp rules and rigidity of the discipline, he continued to learn on his own despite Lupé stopped guiding him. “Studying nature itself, he intuited his own set of rules and eventually mastered fire—the one axiom his grandmother wouldn’t teach him.”

One day, Milio came to rescue an injured hunter. Knowing the village healer was too far, he tried desperately to adapt the axiom into a force that could heal. By putting his hand on the hunter’s stomach, he felt “a flicker of warmth”, which turned out to be her inner flame. By focusing on that feeling, he used his own inner flame to heal her. That night, he’d discovered an entirely new axiom, which he affectionately named “soothing fire.”

Going back home, Milio told his family what he had done. Her grandmother Lupé, however, was unsettled by this achievement. If you want to find out more about Milio and his relationship within the LoL lore meantime, check out the full biography on the game’s Universe page.

On the current League of Legends PBE there is a tiny easter egg that hints at Milio, so get ready because the champion is coming soon. It won’t be released in patch 13.5, but there is a chance that we might see him on the PBE for the upcoming patch 13.6, and hit the live servers when the patch goes live on Mar. 22nd.

The enchanter support will be followed by the new Darkin champion

There’s a new Darkin assassin champion that is looking to hit Summoners’ Rift. It was revealed that it will be a female and she will use a dagger as her main weapon, but we still don’t know whether it will be a human or a creature. According to known leaker BigBadBear, the new League of Legends Darkin will be a dog, explaining that the dagger is going to be fused with the champion’s face in some way.

There is a lot of mystery in this release, making it one of the most hyped releases that we might get in 2023. If you’re asking why, here’s a preview of the design:
