League Patch 13.6 Notes

Compared to previous years, Riot is looking more and more confident in adding multiple big changes across consecutive patch notes. Riot recently confirmed in their Quick Gameplay Thoughts post, as they are looking to take better approaches that can make champions more refreshing to play.

With the latest Patch 13.5 now finally live, the eyes will be on the upcoming Patch 13.6. Out of all the tentative changes, players will also be getting the new LoL champion: Milio. He’s going to be on the PBE, and will finally be available to play in the next patch.

There are also planned changes to Yuumi’s current SFX. According to Riot, EDG Yuumi’s skin and E on Yuubee are the abilities affected by this issue. They are going to make adjustments and improve the sounds in the upcoming patch.

Update (Mar. 14th): Riot Phroxzon has unveiled the champion and system changes coming to Patch 13.6. While there aren’t major changes, the balance team is looking to tag some of the best-performing champions, like Yuumi, Zeri, Aurelion Sol, and Veigar. Some nerfs are also coming to some of the ADC items like Bloodthirster, Navori Quickblade, as well as the ADC-oriented runes like Lethal Tempo, and Legend: Bloodline.

Among the buffs, instead, Riot is planning to give some love to Vayne, Galio, Talon, and Ashe (towards her ADC version). Given that the first three are currently completely out of the meta, it will be exciting to see how Riot plans on buffing these champions.

That being said, the most important change is likely going to be around Dragons. After having a bot-centric meta for years, will this be the time we see a major meta shift? We’re going to have to wait for the numbers to find out.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

Given that not all the numbers are not out yet, it’s still too early to make any potential judgment. Milio, though, looks to have quite a busted kit, despite the simplicity of his kit.

Update (Mar. 17th): The numbers have been announced a few days ago, and among the changes, the most important ones are probably the Aurelion Sol and Yuumi nerfs. The first will likely see a significant drop in popularity, but retain his power as a scaling mage. Yuumi, on the other hand, is going to get gutted again, and hopefully, she won’t be a pick-or-ban champion at high Elo anymore. Talon will be one to watch out for: he was already performing decently, and these buffs might push him near top-tier territory next patch.

Regarding Vayne, while the buffs are nice, she struggles too much in the current meta in specific matchups. Her play rate will surely go up, but it’s unlikely she will become S-tier all of a sudden.

Update (Mar. 20th): The drake nerfs are targeting the stacking of it, but it shouldn’t change how teams play around the objective. Getting a soul will still be impactful, and teams will stay play in a bot-centric meta.

Update (Mar. 24th): Milio hotfix changes added.

Patch 13.6 Tentative Changes

Milio

Fired Up – Passive

  • Whenever Milio hits himself or an allied champion with an ability, he enchants the target for 4 seconds, causing their next basic attack or ability to deal 15% − 50%  15-35% (based on level) of the target’s AD bonus magic damage and apply a burn that deals 25 − 80 (based on level) (+ 20% AP) magic damage over 1.5 seconds.

Ultra Mega Fire Kick (Q)

  • Milio kicks a fireball in the target direction after a 0.25-second delay that knocks back and stuns the first enemy hit over 1 second. Upon collision, the ball then launches upward and falls toward the target’s location to explode, dealing magic damage to enemies within the area and slowing them for 1.5 seconds. (Milio cannot cast his other abilities during Ultra Mega Fire Kick’s delay.)
  • Mana cost: 50/55/60/65/70
  • Cooldown: 12 seconds flat
  • Damage: 90/135/180/225/270 (+ 90% AP)
  • Slow: 40/45/50/55/60% (+ 5% per 100 AP)
  • If the primary target is a non-champion, the ball knocks them back further and creates a larger explosion on impact.

Cozy Campfire (W)

  • Active: Milio summons an empowerment zone at the target location for 6 seconds that follows the closest nearby allied champion at the cast location, including himself. Allied champions and Milio within the area gain increased base attack range and heal every 0.24 seconds over the duration. (Cozy Campfire may only grant Fired Up! upon being summoned and once every 3 seconds thereafter.)
  • Recast: Millio commands the zone to follow himself or the target allied champion and places the recast on a 0.5-second static cooldown.
  • Increased attack range: 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%
  • Heal per tick: 3.2/4.4/5.6/6.8/8 (+ 0.6% AP)
  • Post hotfix – total healing: 80/110/140/170/200 >>> 70/90/110/130/150

Warm Hugs (E)

  • Milio wraps himself or the target allied champion in protective flames, granting them a shield and bonus movement speed for 2.5 seconds.
  • Milio periodically stocks a Warm Hugs charge, up to a maximum of 2.
  • Mana cost: 50/60/70/80/90
  • Static cooldown: 0.5 seconds
  • Recharge time: 17/16/15/14/13 seconds >>> 18/17/16/15/14

  • Bonus movement speed: 15/17.5/20/22.5/25%

Breath of Life (R)

  • Milio unleashes a wave of soothing flames on himself and nearby allied champions, healing them, cleansing them of all non-airborne crowd control, and granting them 65% tenacity for 3 seconds.
  • Mana cost: 100 flat
  • Cooldown: 160/145/130 seconds
  • Heal: 150/250/350 (+30% AP)
