LoL Patch 25.07 – The yearly April Fools is around the corner

With the end of First Stand, the first international tournament, teams will now turn their eyes to the upcoming spring split and the mid-season invitational (MSI). For the player base, on the other hand, it also means it’s April Fool’s time, and Riot has come up with great concepts with plans to release a total of five skins.

There are a couple of important changes regarding champions, the first one being Yorick. Based on the leaked numbers, the champion will deal less damage with his Ghouls but deal more damage with the rest of the kit.

The other big change is on Yone: he will no longer be able to cleanse crowd controls after using the second cast of his E. This should add more counterplay to a champion that has been a strong pick for the majority of the season.

Naafiri, who has been the undisputed best jungler of the patch, is getting adjustments that should bring her more inline with the rest of the jungle pool. The same is done to Darius, Lulu, and Gwen, all performing champions in the patch.

Additionally, Riot should bring Leblanc’s visual update which is currently available on the PBE. Check out the leaked changes in the section below.

Patch 25.07 Release Date

The official patch schedule for 2025 has been confirmed, and Patch 25.07 will be released on Apr. 2, 2025.

How will the upcoming patch shake the meta?

We should expect some shake ups in the meta when it comes to champion choices. We saw AD champions finding good success in the jungle and a general switch to higher-tempo junglers.

Champions that are able to dominate in the mid-game are probably going to be ideal, allowing them to snowball leads and close out the games quickly. The nerf to Homeguard will also partially influence this aspect, given that deaths and recalls will be more punishing.
