What Do We Know About the Latest Battlefield?
We don’t know much about the single-player campaign of Battlefield 6, but we have some info. What we do know is that it is set in 2027. You’ll be able to play as a unit of Marine Raiders called Dagger 1-3. There is a power struggle between a fractured NATO Alliance, with the threat of Pax Armata, a Private Military Company (PMC).
Expect the classics from previous Battlefield titles, including dramatic set pieces, to delve into. We do see the bombing of what seems to be the Brooklyn Bridge, with a huge number of troop deployments. With it still being around seven weeks until its full release, we’re sure to learn more as the launch draws ever closer.
Looking at the reveal of Battlefield 6’s multiplayer mode, we’ve learned a lot. Modes available, weapons, map names, and class information have all been included in this reveal. It seems to be on the same lines as some of the best games in the franchise, including Battlefield 3 and 4.
The Four Classes Return in Battlefield 6
They’re back, and better than ever in Battlefield 6. Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon are all back with their traditional roles. Below, we’ll go through each class.
Assault
The Assault class is all about raw aggression. Armed with assault rifles and grenade launchers, this run-and-gun specialist excels at pushing the front line. Faster health regen and enhanced mobility (no movement penalties and reduced fall damage) keep you constantly in the fight. If you like being the first in and the last out, Assault is your home.
Engineer
Engineers thrive in chaos. Equipped with submachine guns and rocket launchers, they specialize in repairing friendly vehicles and blowing hostile ones to pieces. High explosive resistance keeps you alive in the blast zone — perfect for players who want to control the battlefield with heavy firepower and utility.
Support
Support is the backbone of every squad. Using light machine guns and deployable cover, this class excels at sustained defensive combat. Fast revives and infinite ammo resupplies keep your team in the fight longer than anyone else. If you’re the type who likes keeping your squad alive (and heavily armed), Support is essential.
Recon
Recon dominates the long game. Armed with sniper rifles and powerful spotting tools, this class is designed for long-range elimination and intel gathering. Spot enemies, line up your shot and don’t miss — because a headshot means instant death with no revival. Ideal for players who prefer precision, patience, and control from afar.

Battlefield 6 Launch Maps
When Battlefield 6 launches in October, there will be nine maps available to players. Eight are brand new, and the ninth will be a revival of the Battlefield 3 map, Operation Firestorm. Each and every map is available in each game mode, taking place across a variety of environments and locations.
- Empire State: Fighting in the streets on the rooftops, and in the alleys of Brooklyn, New York.
- Iberian Offensive: Plenty of building-to-building fighting, being situated in urban warfare, and including tanks and infantry.
- Liberation Peak: Expect open-air combat on the side of a mountain, using helicopters, tanks, jets, and infantry combat to fight to victory.
- Manhattan Bridge: Fight on the ground or in the air in a helicopter, close-quarter urban fights to keep you entertained.
- Mirak Valley: It’s the largest launch map in this game. Every vehicle type is on offer, and there’s an opportunity for infantry too.
- New Sobek City: Based in the suburban streets of Cairo, a construction site, and dunes. Helicopters, tanks, and infantry are on offer.
- Operation Firestorm: A large oil field with players able to do both long and short distance fighting with infantry, tanks, jets, and helicopters.
- Saints Quarter: With only infantry on offer, expect to fight among some of the most idyllic European city streets.
- Siege of Cairo: Use infantry and tanks only, to have plenty of close-quarter fights with the opposition.
64 players is now the maximum number of players in a match, a downgrade from the usual 128. Maps will be a pure mixture of vehicle and infantry gameplay, making it so confined that vehicles may not be used to their full potential.
What game modes are on offer?
EA has put a huge amount of their time into making the best game modes this game has ever seen, but just better. Previous modes are back and better than ever, including Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush.
A new mode has also been added to Battlefield 6 where teams are expected to fight and expand territory whilst gaining control points to make a disappearance. Intensity is what this mode is based on. As the game progresses, chaos will descend.
But if faster-paced game modes are what you’re after, Team and Squad Deathmatches, Domination, and King of the Hill may be the ones for you. Even though they’ll be set on smaller sections of the larger maps, it creates a more instant-action feel.
What Does Battlefield 6 Include?
With its release coming ever closer, let’s take a look at what the game is set to include currently:
- 9 maps are set to be launched, including a remake of Battlefield 3’s Operation Firestorm, and four of which were sampled in the beta.
- The game will go back to its standard 64-player lobby, causing less strain on the servers and promising more action.
- Single player campaign is available to players, but not much is currently known about that.
- No specialists will be included, just the regular old classes: Recon, Assaults, Engineer, and Support.
- An added playlist with class restrictions on guns.
- Battlefield Portal’s custom modes are back and better than ever, with its new advanced tools making it similar to Halo Forge.
