Format

The tournament features 20 different teams, but given that this is a multiple days long event it’s divided into quite a few different stages. As one of the biggest Rainbow Six esports events there are a lot of players to see compete. There are 3 in total which will whittle things down before we find out the top 8. Phase 1 and Phase 2 have different teams, with the top competitors moving forward from each to the final.

Things start with the first round, where all teams are sorted into different double-elimination brackets. They compete best of 3 with the top 4 teams in each going forward. In the second phase, we get a Swiss System. The teams starting here enter here, along with a handful more from the play ins. These teams are grouped and compete in best of 1 matches, with best of 3 for elimination matches. This will run until May 22nd. Then, the top 8 move forward to the Grand Final bracket.

The last stage is the 8-team single elimination bracket. This is a standard bracket, once a team loses they’re out. They compete in Best of 3 until we reach the Grand Final, where we switch to a bigger best of 5 format.

It’s a long process, but it should ensure we see everyone competing at the BLAST R6 Major Manchester get a fair shot. In the end, the winning team will have earned their crown.

Prize Pool

The R6 BLAST Manchester Major has a big prize pool at $750,000 in total. Out of that, each team gets a $7,000 participation prize just for showing up.
