Now that Patch 14.8 is on the live servers, it’s time to turn our eyes to the upcoming LoL Patch 14.9. Find out how the meta will shake up.

LoL Patch 14.9 – Champion nerfs and fighter item changes

Patch 14.8 was released on April 17 and it will be the official patch for MSI. Riot looked to make quite a few champion changes with the hopes of shifting things in the meta, which has been quite stale lately.

While we monitor what is going to happen in the patch, Riot is already working on the upcoming update. According to game designer Spideraxe, there are some planned bruiser item changes as the devs are looking to fine-tweak some of the items’ power. Additionally, there are many nerfs planned for some of the strongest picks in the meta, especially in the mid lane, jungle and support roles.

Below you can find the numbers and adjustments that are currently planned. Keep in mind, though, that the buffs or nerfs might be subject to further changes in the upcoming days.

Patch 14.9 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.9 will be released on Wednesday, May 1st. This will be the 9th patch out of the 24 updates planned for the year.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

It’s tough to make a clear analysis of what might happen in Patch 14.9 based on changes given. Sundered Sky might drop in value among bruisers while Maw of Malmortius will perform better on some occasions, especially thanks to the added Ability Haste. For the champions, we should expect Ahri and Kassadin to drop in priority, as well as Evelynn, Bel’Veth, and Yi.
