Pokémon GO Cheats & Hacks for Android and iPhone
Pokémon GO cheats and hacks continue to grow in popularity. The game has been out since 2016 which means there’s been plenty of time for hacks to come out and evolve to keep up with a constantly updated game. Cheats and hacks vary in effectiveness, legitimacy, and usefulness, but there are plenty – including spoofing, auto-cathing, shiny scanning, IV revealing, time changing and quick catching. Some of these can allow you to automatically catch the Pokémon, automatically check for shinies, move around from the comfort of your own home, and more.
Before we proceed, however, please bear this in mind: The use of Pokémon hacks and cheats are frowned upon by Niantic. Sometimes, they can result in bans as well. You may end up losing your account if you try doing some of these things. Some of them are safer than others, and there are plenty of players who use them. However, they’re still not something Niantic wants in their game.
Hacks are generally not supposed to be used in gaming, which is why they’re called hacks. The same goes for exploits and all of that. They’re not above board technically. Still, they’re out there, and they can be very helpful to the game.
Pokémon GO Hacks 1: Spoofing
Spoofing is the most popular hack in Pokémon GO. This hack allows players to travel anywhere they want. Ordinarily, if trainers want to visit New Mexico, they’d have to travel there. There are regional Pokémon that spawn in New York, Central America, Africa, and all across the globe. The only way to get those is to go to those locations, but that’s not really feasible.
For example, it’s not realistic for a Pokémon GO player in North Carolina to have to go to South Asia to get a Torkoal, which normally only spawns there. This is why many turn to spoofing. Spoofing allows you to go wherever they want in the world. This has a few benefits:
- For starters, you can find any Pokémon. To find Hawlucha, which is regional to Mexico, a spoofer can just travel there and find one without having to get up off their bed.
- Second, they can trade with anyone they are friends with. Trading has to occur from a very close proximity, so if you become Lucky Friends with someone far away, you would have to travel to them to take advantage. Not so with a spoofing account.
Here are a few popular Pokémon GO hack spoofing applications one could use on their Pokémon GO account:
- iPoGo
- TenorShare iAnyGo
- ExpressVPN Pokemon GO
- Pokemon GO++ AKA PGsharp
- Fake GPS GO Location Spoofer Free
iPoGo and Tenorshare are considered the safest options. Some of these do cost money, though. The latter two are primarily Pokémon GO cheats for Android as well.
Pokémon GO Cheat: iTools
iTools is one of the most popular spoofing apps out there, but it also comes with another fun feature. This Pokémon GO cheat for iPhone allows you to stream the game onto your laptop. Playing on a laptop might be easier, especially if you are spoofing. Not only does this make it extremely easy to change location, everything on screen is bigger and much easier to see.
This is a paid option and it can be expensive, but it does offer things other spoofing applications do not.
Pokémon GO Hacks 2: Auto Catching
Auto Catching is one of the hacks that isn’t technically a hack. While Niantic prefers trainers to throw and catch the Pokémon manually, they understand that it can be a grind. Fortunately, the game has companion devices that can automatically catch things.
Pokémon Go Plus Auto Catch is a verified device that trainers can wear on their wrist. This device allows trainers to interact with the game without checking their phone. There is only one button on the Pokémon Go Plus Auto Catch that can be used to spin a PokéStop and catch Pokémon. A light on the device tells trainers what’s happening. This can be an excellent way to play the game while being alert to your surroundings. It also makes catching a creature so much simpler.
Go-tcha is another device that’s similar to the Pokémon Go Plus Auto Catch device. Trainers wear it on their wrist and automatically catch Pokémon as well as spin stops. This device comes with an LED screen to let wearers know exactly what is going on. It was one of the first of its kind to be made.
Another option is the Poké Ball Plus. If you connect this to your phone via Bluetooth, it can essentially function as an automatic catching device. Users can spin PokéStops and catch things by clicking the B button. It also automatically gets items from a stop if there’s a Pokémon inside the ball.
Pokémon GO Hacks 3: Shiny Scanner
Catching shinies in Pokémon GO is a big reason why anyone plays. Despite it not being terribly easy to find these alternate colored Pokémon, it’s still easiest in Pokémon GO when compared to the main franchise. This is a fun pastime, as nothing compares to finding that alternate form of a Pokémon that looks good.
However, finding one is pretty tedious. Players have to go out and click on every single one they see and then leave if it’s not shiny, which it usually is not. This is pretty tedious and slows the game down a lot, but the shiny scanner can help.
In some mainline Pokémon games, the Pokémon will appear as shiny on the map. When players run past a shiny Buizel in Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet, they’ll know it’s shiny. If they walked past one in Pokémon GO without clicking it, they’d never know.
Fortunately, the shiny scanner changes that. With it installed, the Pokémon will appear as shiny on the map. You still have to encounter and then catch them, which can be easier said than done, but this does prevent you from having to click and exit each Pokémon on the map.
Unfortunately, the shiny scanner found from the Pokemod application is one of the Pokémon GO cheats for Android. It doesn’t work on iPhone presently. Additionally, this shiny scanner doesn’t just alert players to shiny Pokémon. Ditto is a Pokémon that can transform into certain ones that spawn in the game. The scanner will show them as a Ditto, so players can catch them if they want.
Pokémon GO Hacks 4: IV Reveal
Another aspect of catching Pokémon is trying to find the best one. There are two aspects of this: CP (combat power) and IVs. CP can be boosted by paying stardust and candy to power it up, but IVs stay the same. They represent the underlying aspect of how truly viable a certain Pokémon is.
Each aspect, health points, attack, and defense, has a value assigned to it up to 15. 15 is perfect, so if a Pokémon happens to have 15s across the board, it is a perfect Pokémon, also known as a Hundo (for 100% of IVs). These are often delineated in percentages. For example, a 15, 15, 14 Pokémon would be a 98%. This percentage can be handy with certain hacks because it will show up on the encounter.
Normally, players have to catch a Pokémon and then have their team leader appraise it. At that point, they’ll likely see it’s like a 36% Pokémon and not very useful. This could be avoided if the IVs were available from the encounter. Many Pokémon GO hacks and apps come with this feature. For example, Tenorshare from the spoofing list above shows the IVs when you encounter the creature.
Please remember that all of these are frowned upon. These are not legitimate ways of playing, and all of them can be taken down at a moment’s notice. Your account can also be banned in a moment, too. So before you do this consider that it may not be worth the risk.
However, it is admittedly advantageous to use these for any particular reason. If you want to find shinies, the scanner is very helpful. If completing the Pokédex is a goal, then spoofing is extremely useful. Still, they are not without risks, and they’re not always without cost, either.
Pokémon GO Hacks 5: Time Change
Everything in Pokémon GO is related to the real world. It’s location-based for regional things, but it’s also time-based. Some Pokémon spawn more frequently at night, and the general look of the app changes when the sun goes down. This can be manipulated, though it’s not always a straightforward change.
You can change the time zone on your iOS or Android device to accomplish this. This is recommended if you’re spoofing so that your location matches the time zone you’re in. If you’re in New York, you should be in Eastern Time, not Central Time, for example. This is also very useful for events, as they’re time-locked. You can attempt to stretch out the event by changing time zones and getting more hours until it ends.
Pokémon GO Hacks 6: Quick Catch
The Quick Catch hack is a useful one. Let’s say you’re grinding a Community Day or Spotlight Hour for shinies and hundos. The Quick Catch removes the lengthy catch animation from the process. You can catch and encounter twice as many different Pokémon with this installed. All you have to do is throw the ball at the Pokémon, and the app does the rest manually while you go back to the map to check more.
Pokémon hacks can result in having your account banned.
There is no guarantee a hack will work and you may end up wasting your money and time.
Most hacks and their developers do not operate in a legal capacity, and you can not take action if you lose your personal data or information.
Fake GPS Locations or VPN Clients are not always reliable and may bug out your client.
