VALORANT Corrode Map: Layout, Callouts, Attack & Defense Strategies

Corrode is one of the latest VALORANT maps released by Riot, built around a classic two-site three-lane setup, with plenty of verticality and tight angles. Set in a French castle town, the map features an abundance of clearable positions, which have led to mixed reception, especially from new players.

This guide breaks down the VALORANT Corrode map in bite-sized pieces, covering everything from the essential layout and callouts to practical executes and strategies you’ll need to play confidently.

Note: The contents of this guide are accurate for VALORANT Patch 11.10 (Season 2025: Act 6).

What Is The VALORANT Corrode Map?

Based on the French castle town of Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, VALORANT’s Corrode map appears to be a traditional three-lane map on the surface. However, it features a tremendous amount of depth, thanks to the added layer of verticality and hiding spots.

What makes Corrode so challenging is the fact that enemies can appear from nearly any corner, with many unexpected off-angles—both above and below your crosshair. Many of the map’s walls are also extremely thin, so you also need to watch out for wallbangs.

The map was first added to VALORANT in Patch 11.00 on June 25, 2025. As the latest map added to the game, it will likely remain in the active pool for a long time.

A Site

Corrode’s A site is the larger of the two spike plant locations and features two distinct entrances: one from Yard and one from Elbow. However, it can still be tricky to attack. Elbow and Pocket feature many tight corners that require clearing, while the entrance to Pocket is exposed from A Link.

For this reason, the best way to attack A site is to split through Mid and take Yard from both Link and Main. You can then choose to clear Pocket and Elbow and pincer the site, or simply attack together through one of the entrances, then set up post plant positions around the many corners on and around the site.

A key agent for this site is Sova, as his utility has a massive impact on both attack and defense. He can clear the tight corners in Pocket and Elbow, or fire Recon through the hole in the site wall to scout the site itself, and gather info in Yard.

Mid

Knowing how to control Mid on Corrode in VALORANT is vital to your success. The area is key for both sides, as it opens up avenues for attackers to enter either site and provides quick rotations and flank opportunities for the defenders.

Mid has long sightlines and key chokepoints, including Bottom Mid, Stairs, and Top Mid. As such, you’ll need to use smokes to block off these areas and flashes to take favorable fights and clear key angles, as both defenders and attackers.

As a defender, you should remember that attackers can smoke stairs and quickly push into A, or smoke A Link and Window to hit B. You can counter this by throwing smokes of your own, fighting for these areas with utility, or even giving up the positions to take space elsewhere.

Mid often sees a lot of action on Corrode in VALORANT and is very much a push-and-pull for area control.

B Site

Corrode’s B Site truly puts the map’s verticality in plain view. There are multiple points of elevation, with defenders being able to post up in the Tower, on top of the shed, on top of the two sets of boxes, and even below the entrance from B Main, by the ramp.

As any VALORANT Corrode map guide will tell you, it’s a tough one for the attackers to take. The best way to enter B is to split through Mid, but even then, it’s no easy task. You’ll need to smoke off Tower and Elbow, so it’s best to draw out some utility from the defenders before committing to the site.

The good news for attackers is that if you do manage to take B site, it’s just as difficult for the defenders to retake it.

Best Agents For Corrode Map In VALORANT

Corrode’s strongest agents are those that can fully capitalize on its size, verticality, and tight chokepoints. Because each role in VALORANT interacts with the map differently, we’ll break down the top picks by category.

Best Controllers For Corrode

Anyone who likes smokes has no doubt asked themselves the question: Which controller is best for Corrode? In a word, the answer is Omen

Omen thrives on Corrode as his kit is perfect for the map. His long-range smokes allow him to easily cut off key angles, his flash can blind opponents and help clear large chunks of the map, and his teleport can set up outstanding plays (thanks to both the verticality and size of the map).

If you’re not a fan of Omen, then the other great options are Astra and Viper. Astra can smoke anywhere on the map, which can be great for fakes or tricky executes, while Viper can easily lock down the many tight chokes around the map.

Best Duelists For Corrode

When it comes to the best duelists on Corrode, there are plenty of options. Neon and Yoru are excellent as they are both great at covering long distances, which helps with quick rotations and fakes.

Waylay is also great on the map, as the agent can not only take advantage of the verticality with their dash, but also has great utility to clear contested spaces. Jett is equally viable, thriving in maps with verticality and narrow corridors—she also has a dash to escape or make space.

Best Sentinels For Corrode

The best sentinel on Corrode is Vyse. Her wall is perfect for locking down key positions on the map, and her flash is incredibly powerful thanks to the many chokepoints on the map. She’s often regarded as one of the best VALORANT agents and appears in almost every match at the highest level.

Another good option is Chamber. Although he isn’t quite as good at locking down positions, he can effectively control areas and quickly fall back. His traps also do a good job of providing key information, with no risk to the player.

Best Initiators For Corrode

There are two compelling picks: Sova and Fade are the best initiators on Corrode. The map’s abundance of thin walls makes their info-gathering tools especially powerful, enabling consistent spamming and highly effective wallbang setups.

Both initiators are also great at providing vision across the map, so they not only help set up spam through the walls, but are also great at clearing the many angles that are practically everywhere.

If you’re not a fan of either of those, Breach can also be a good option. He can help clear long areas like Elbow and Mid with his stun, and provides multiple flashes for clearing the multitude of corners.

How To Attack On VALORANT Corrode Map

Now that you know the best agents, let’s explore some of the best Corrode attack strategies. There are many ways to navigate the attack side. Still, Mid control is crucial—without it, you’ll have to push through a narrow angle into defenders holding multiple positions across different elevations.

Let’s take an in-depth look at attacking in all three lanes.

How To Execute A Site

Attacking A site on Corrode can be tricky due to the open Yard and multiple tight corners. The best approach is to smoke Mid Stairs and split through A Link and A Main. Once you take control of the Yard, you can either commit to the site or take control of Pocket and Elbow, then pincer the site.

If you opt for Pocket and Elbow, make sure to check all of the corners and clear them out with things like Sova’s drone or Fade’s prowler.  After you plant the spike, take post-plant positions. There are a lot of good options on A, including any of the corners in Elbow or even sitting in Link, Yard, or Main and spamming the spike through the wall once you hear the defuse.

How To Take Mid Safely

Mid control is crucial for both sides on Corrode, and knowing how to control Mid can make or break your game. For the attacking side, you’ll be pressured to enter Mid into a long sightline and a tight choke point, so utility is necessary.

A good starting point to getting Mid control is to smoke the A Link and Top Mid chokes, then use flashes or scouting utility to secure control around Mid Stairs. After that, you can choose where to progress.

If you want to go B, you can smoke Window and push through B Link with Flashes. However, if you go A, you can keep Top Mid smoked and head through A Link. Mid is a location where a lot of action happens on Corrode in VALORANT, so be on the lookout for defender aggression.

Having said that, if you see the defenders giving up Mid too easily, start thinking about the flanks from A or B Main.

How To Hit B Site Effectively

VALORANT Corrode’s B site is definitely the harder of the two to attack, but we’ve got some great attack tips to help you lock down the site.

Entering through B Main is almost impossible, as you’ll face a ton of different angles, as well as many levels of elevation. Instead, you’ll want to split through Mid—but even then, you should ideally force out some utility from the defenders by poking in first, before committing all of your utility.

When it comes to the execute, make sure to smoke off Tower and Elbow, and use utility to clear tough angles like under the ramp and the left corner of the entrance from Main. If you manage to break through, you now have a powerful advantage in the post-plant.

From there, you’ll want to scale up into Elbow, Tower, or just hold on to any of the corners or elevated angles like the shed or boxes.

How To Defend On Corrode Map In VALORANT

It can be challenging to know how to defend on Corrode as the map is quite large and features a number of avenues of attack. However, we’ve compiled some great Corrode defender tips below.

A Site Defensive Setups

A site is arguably the harder of the two sites to hold, so it’s crucial to know how to defend A site on Corrode. As a defender, your biggest advantage is that A Yard is so open. You can pinch attackers from Link and Pocket, or even swing from the site.

Sova is great here because he can send a dart or his drone through the hole in the site wall, revealing attacker positions. Pocket and Elbow are great defensive positions that allow you to easily set up crossfires at the entrances (it also offers a ton of corners to hide in).

If you’re being pressured a lot on A, you can also fall back and play retake in VALORANT. Since you can approach the site from Defender Spawn, Link, and Main, you can easily pinch the attackers with a fast flank.

Mid Defense & Retake Value

Defending Mid on Corrode in VALORANT can be tricky. Despite there being only one chokepoint that the attackers can push through, the defense is split at the stairs. You can try to slow the attackers down by going from top Mid and A Link to control the stairs area by smoking off the choke.

Keep in mind that attackers will want to utilize a lot of utility in this area to clear it, so be aware of items like Sova drones, Fade Prowlers, and other dangerous utility abilities. If you can hold the stairs, you’ll be in a great spot as you can quickly rotate to either site.

Otherwise, you can slowly fall back and make the attackers use utility to clear Mid, leaving them with fewer options on the sites.

B Site Anchor Strategies

Defending B site on Corrode is vital, but it is also much easier than defending other places on the map. The attackers have to funnel through a very tight choke in B Main. Additionally, the site also offers many corners and elevations that can be used to the defender’s advantage.

Sentinels are a great option for holding B. They can slow down a rush with their utility while picking off enemies in advantageous fights, thanks to the many angles and elevation options on the site.

Tips & Tricks To Win On Corrode

We’ve gone through playing the map, but now let’s round it out with some Corrode tips and tricks that you can apply to your VALORANT matches!

Focus on Mid

It can’t be said enough that Mid is vital on Corrode. Put a strong emphasis on it throughout your gameplay, whether that’s coming up with unique ways of contesting the area, or even briefly giving it up to hit your opponents at an unexpected time.

Wallbangs and the Odin

Remember that many of the walls on Corrode are paper-thin. Try to predict your opponents’ movements and positions, then shoot through the wall to eliminate them. The Odin weapon in VALORANT shines exceptionally bright, particularly when combined with agents like Sova and Fade.

Draw Out Utility

Utility is key due to the amount of sneaky corners and angles on Corrode. Try to apply pressure before committing anywhere to force some utility out of your opponents. You’ll then either be able to stay in better defensive positions or be able to clear out areas with your own utility without the enemy being able to respond.
