It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It will not be available on last-gen hardware, which regrettably includes the Nintendo Switch. It’s possible that this year’s Switch 2 will get it eventually, but since it’s rumored to be akin to a PS4, there’s no use holding your breath on that one.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Trailer
The trailer shows off everything you could need to know about this upcoming title. There are gameplay images, some story beats to hook you, and a great look at the improved graphics.

Does Assassin’s Creed Shadows Have a Collector’s Edition?
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have a fantastic Collector’s Edition with a price tag of $239.99. It features one of the most ambitious and valuable bundles in franchise history, and fans have already expressed intense excitement online.
The Collector’s Edition will feature a 40cm statue of the game’s protagonists, a Japanese-themed wall banner, a replica katana hand guard, art prints and an artbook, a steelbook, and the ultimate edition of the game – among other things. It really is a stunning collection that the most die-hard Assassin’s Creed fans will fall in love with.
When is Assassin’s Creed Shadows Set?
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in 1579 in Feudal Japan. It’s a setting that fans have been asking for over several years, and reportedly, the game will see players advance far into the 1580s as the story unravels. It’s set to be a long game that’ll pass through dynamic seasons, carrying players across a vast map that’s set to be just as big as 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins . Like every other game in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in a real-world location.
It hasn’t been confirmed how long Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be, but it’s easy to see it shaping up as a sizeable title. It likely won’t be as long as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is the longest AC title by far, but it’ll still have plenty of meat on the bones.
Who Are The Main Characters in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players assume control of two protagonists: a Shinobi named Naoe and a Samurai named Yasuke. There’s something special there, as Yasuke is the first protagonist in Assassin’s Creed history who existed in real life. It was confirmed (and showcased in the trailer) that Naoe is a skilled and agile fighter who relies more on stealth and secrecy to accomplish goals her, while Yasuke is heavy, wears strong armor, and tends to wield heftier weaponry.
Players will be able to switch between these players at any time, which will allow them to deal with missions in a range of ways. Aside from that mechanic, each character will have unique missions that can only be completed as them, including their ‘introductory’ missions.
Judging from what we’ve seen thus far, they could be shaping up as two of the best characters in the Assassin’s Creed series .
Is Assassin’s Creed Shadows an RPG?
Like some of the most recent Assassin’s Creed titles, AC Shadows will be an RPG-based game. There will be traditional skill paths to follow and each protagonist will have unique weapons that they can level up over time. That will allow players to flesh out their desired style, whether that be making use of a katana, a war club, shuriken, or spears. There will also be a range of ‘active combat skills’ that players can unlock and apply as they level up and explore more of the map.
We’ll update this breakdown as more details are revealed about Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
