PUBG Mobile 3.8 Update is set to release globally next month. The highlight of this update is the Steampunk Frontier mode, a brand-new themed experience in collaboration with Attack on Titan that brings a Titan (monsters) twist to the game with massive trains, clockwork puzzles, and unique traversal mechanics.
Alongside it, players can expect a host of enhancements to classic gameplay, improved UI/UX, and powerful new items. Here’s the complete breakdown.

The update follows PUBG Mobile’s usual ~60-day patch cycle and will be available worldwide starting May 8, 2025.

Firstly, we’re getting a real-time Status Panel that tracks things like train schedules with a handy overlay you can toggle on or off—cleanly designed so it won’t clutter your screen. While it’s debuting in theme mode, you can bet we’ll see it pop up in future updates as well.
Now, to the more important ones, players can now access 1v1 Team Deathmatch from matchmaking as a new mode. This is eliminating the need for custom rooms and making quick, competitive rounds more accessible. However, if you want to beat up someone particular in mind, there’s still no better alternative than the room cards.
The Armored UAZ, previously seen on PC, has been added to Rondo. A much needed addition that will be providing new tactical options in vehicle-based engagements for seasons to come..
Additionally, players can now review Death Cam replays through the Highlights menu. Very useful for spotting cheaters or analyzing missteps.
The 3.8 update brings a major change in the gameplay to balance competitive play alongside casual squad coordination. Heavy Stock has been introduced in the attachment section. And it is truly among the most impressive features of this update.
Heavy Stock is a new attachment that is designed to improve recoil control for both vertical and horizontal sprays, as well as for tap fire stability which translates to faster recoil recovery. It is provided as an alternative to a Tactical Stock and works well, especially when fighting in mid- to close-range; however, scope open time is a little slower, which sometimes causes you to miss shot.
One of the other standout features is the Portable Med Pack, which is newly introduced on Erangel after earlier testing on Rondo. This allows squads to set up a healing station, so that one player can revive while the other heals, making it very useful for high-pressure scenarios. This sort of mechanism is adopted from Apex Legends’ Lifeline.
Sticky Bombs have now been deployed across all maps, providing new breaching capabilities. The development team is actively reviewing C4 explosives and Panz Force gadgets for potential future inclusion, which could significantly expand tactical diversity. A tire repair feature is also under consideration, responding to community demand for real-time vehicle maintenance during matches.
A major quality-of-life innovation is the AI Friend feature. When a player disconnects or goes AFK, an AI-controlled teammate takes their place, inheriting their gear and following basic commands. This ensures uninterrupted squad performance during unexpected disruptions and maintains competitive integrity.
Additional changes include the ability to spectate friends in Warm Mode, a functionality previously limited to classic matches. Hardcore Mode also expands to include the Sanhok map, adding its signature fast-paced jungle combat to the Ultimate Royal Hardcore playlist.
The 3.8 update delivers substantial advancements in gameplay depth, tactical flexibility, and team coordination. With new mechanics and refinements across modes and maps, PUBG Mobile and BGMI continue evolving to meet player expectations at every level.
