VALORANT Bind Map Guide: How To Play, Callouts and Strategies

You can’t get any more chaotic than playing on Bind in VALORANT. Since Bind is one of the original maps, it’s got a lot of great memories for us. Even though pros mastered Bind long ago, new players are showing up in VALORANT all the time. These new players easily get lost on this map because of its unusual teleporters, steep choke points, and fast ways to rotate. If you want to learn how to play like a pro here, continue reading our VALORANT Bind map guide!

VALORANT Bind Map Overview

At present, Bind is the only VALORANT map without a middle lane. In place of a middle lane, the map gives you two teleporters that let you move between sites quickly.

Here’s the quick layout:

  • 2 Spike Sites: A and B
  • 2 Teleporters: The teleporter from A Short to B Short is called Hookah, and the one going from B Long to A Lobby leads you to the Showers.
  • One-way Only: After you use the teleporter, you’re locked in, unless you’re using Chamber or Omen’s special abilities.

Key Callouts You Should Know

Utilising the proper callouts greatly improves your ability to call strategies or respond to opponents’ locations. Therefore, you should know these important callouts for both sites:

A Site

  • A Short (aka Showers Entrance): A narrow path that brings you to the front of the site.
  • Showers: A small tiled bathroom faces A Site directly.
  • A Lamps (aka U-Hall): This small, raised room is a favourite hideout spot for defenders.
  • Truck: You will find a large vehicle positioned in the heart of A Site.
  • A Heaven: Only defenders have access to the high ground above Lamps.

B Site

  • B Long: Often, the long corridor is smoked or walled so it’s hard to use an operator there.
  • B Hookah (aka B Window): This small space connects to the site below, often used for deploying utility.
  • B Elbow: A curved corridor behind the site that joins the CT (Defender Spawn).
  • B Cubby: A small, hidden corner found right under Hookah.
  • B Garden: The outdoor area just before you get to Hookah or B Long.

Shared Areas

  • Teleporter Rooms: Loud, clunky, and often camped.
  • Defender Spawn / Attacker Spawn: It should be obvious, but keeping track of these areas is important for effective timing and rotation.

Bind: Tips & Tricks

  1. Use Teleporters Creatively
Because teleporters are loud, anyone standing close will notice when you use them. Still, you can get the most out of them. It’s easy to trick your opponents by faking a rotate, using utility like flashes and Sova darts through them, or sending a drone or scouting ability to check for enemies. If Yoru is your pick, you’re probably aware of these tips.
  2. Control Showers
Owning Showers allows you to see what happens at A Short. If you place a smoke or go aggressive here, it can really influence the round. Take control of Showers early by using flashes, molotovs, or aim fight.
  3. Don’t Ignore Elbow
If you defend B, controlling Elbow makes it much easier to retake lost areas and see enemies. Once attackers own it, your team will have a much harder time holding the site. Make sure someone is watching it, either by using utility or placing a turret right there.
  4. Hookah is a Death Trap
Moving into B from Hookah is not safe. A Judge in Cubby or underneath is a favourite spot for defenders. You can make things much easier before dropping by clearing it with utility such as Raze grenades, Skye’s dog, or a KAY/O knife.
  5. Watch for Flanks
Because teleporters are there, attackers can split up and move around the map quickly. Someone can pop up behind you fast if you’re not careful. Therefore, set a turret or tripwire, or just have someone stay back to watch the flank.

Attack vs. Defense: How to Play It

Attacking

  • Make use of your utility to clear Showers and Hookah as soon as possible.
  • Act like you’re rotating through teleporters so defenders follow you.
  • Separate your group and use splits at the right moment to gain control of sites.

Defending

  • Don’t overstack one site. Although rotations happen quickly, a fast attack can easily catch you off guard.
  • Play for retakes if needed. Always remember to guard Elbow and Lamps.
