BGMI Update 2.1: How to download APK on Android devices

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the Indian version of PUBG Mobile, has released Update 2.1 into the game with a lot of new content. Players on Android and iOS can open their respective application stores to download the latest update. If you aren’t able to do so on your Android device, however, you can also manually download the APK file to hop on to the latest version of BGMI. 

The most exciting addition in this update is the new themed mode, Ancient Secret Arise. Other than this, a new weapon and a new season have also arrived in the game.

BGMI Update 2.1: Here’s how to download the APK file

BGMI was released over a year ago, but for the first time, Krafton has added the APK file to the official website of the game. Before this, Android users who were facing issues with their application store had to rely on third-party and unreliable sources to get the game. 

Here’s how to do it: 

• Open the official website of the game and at the center, you will be able to find an option for APK Download.  
• Click on the option to begin downloading the APK file with Update 2.1 of BGMI. The file size is around 558 MB. 
• Once the download has been completed, click on the downloaded APK file to begin the installation process. 
• Follow the steps and install BGMI into your device. 
• Open the game and enjoy BGMI with its latest Update 2.1. 

You may need to download additional resources after opening the game, though. 

What’s new in BGMI’s latest version?

The main highlight of the new update is the Ancient Secret: Arise mode. To enter this mode, players have to click the arrow button at the bottom right of the map selection screen under the “ranking” tab. 

As a part of this, ancient ruins have appeared across Erangel, Miramar, and Livik. The locations of these ruins can be seen on the minimap. Be careful while exploring them, though, as they may be hot drops for enemy players. 

 Each ruin is protected by mummy guards and flying monsters. On defeating them, the monsters will drop loot for players to collect. The runes also have interactive structures and unique puzzles to solve for various items. 

Besides this, a new weapon has also been added to BGMI in Update 2.1. The Lynx AMR is a sniper rifle that has a faster shooting speed than other guns in its class. It can only be found on the supply crate, and just like the AWM, uses special ammo.
