What’s Going on in the Group Stage of BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia?

BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia is the SEA twin brother of BTS Pro Series: Americas. The tournament started on April 10th, is taking place online and will last until April 26th. A total of 8 teams are taking part in it and the total prize pool is $50,000. For Dota 2 standards, the rewards aren’t that great but what’s important is the matches. Especially if you enjoy esports betting and like to bet on Dota 2 at every opportunity. In this article, I will take you through the results registered during the first week of the tournament and offer my predictions for the rest of the tournament.

BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia Week 1 Summary

BTS Pro Series: SEA brings together the best teams in the region:

  • Fnatic
  • Team Adroit
  • BOOM Esports
  • TNC Predator
  • Geek Fam
  • CR
  • T1
  • Reality Rift

Among these teams, Fnatic and Adroit have clearly distinguished themselves as the leaders of the pack by winning every single match they’ve played so far. And not only that, but they’ve also done it in a convincing way, by losing a single game in total and getting mostly 2 – 0 victories against their opponents. Fnatic is 5 W – 0 L while Adroit is 3 W – 0 L. The two teams will meet on April 21st. Most likely Fnatic will win that match, as their roster is vastly stronger than Adroit’s.

The complete results for the first week of BTS Pro Series: SEA are as follows:

  • 1st place: Fnatic: 5 W – 1 L: 10 – 1 (map score)
  • 2nd place: Team Adroit: 3 W – 0 L: 6 – 1
  • 3rd place: TNC Predator: 2 W – 1 L: 4 – 2
  • 4th place: Geek Fam: 2 W – 3 L: 5 – 7
  • 5th place: T1: 1 W – 2 L: 3 – 4
  • 6th place: Reality Rift: 1 W – 2 L: 2 – 4
  • 7th place: BOOM Esports: 1 W – 2 L: 2 – 4
  • 8th place: CR: 0 W – 5 L: 1 – 10

Apart from CR, which is Mushi’s team by the way, everyone else is still in the race, having either clear or at least realistic chances of qualifying for the Playoffs. Keep in mind that only the bottom 2 teams will get eliminated at the end of the Group Stage. The top 4 will start in the Upper Bracket while the 5th and 6th will wait for the losers of the first round of Upper Bracket matches in the Lower Bracket. By the looks of things, Fnatic and Adroit seem destined for the Upper Bracket while the next 5 competitors are still battling each other for favorable placements.

Betting Predictions

Fnatic is much stronger than everyone else at BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia, so I fully expect them to win the event. Coached by SunBhie (Team Secret’s former coach) and led by Jabz (a highly experienced player and former Major winner), Fnatic is unlikely to find a worthy rival in this region. The team won the title at DOTA Summit 12 just one month ago and is currently ranked 11th globally, having gathered 400 qualification points for The International 2020. The next best teams in this tournament are Adroit (17th globally with 210 points) and Geek Fam (18th globally with 208 points).

The most likely outcome of BTS Pro Series: SEA is a Fnatic victory in a Grand Final against Adroit.
