DreamHack Masters Stockholm Playoffs viewing guide
DreamHack Masters Stockholm started earlier this week and it has already brought us many big surprises during the group stage. The playoffs will be starting tomorrow, on September 1 and will continue through to Sunday, September 2.
If you have missed the group stage matches but want to be caught up in preparation for the playoffs this weekend, take a read through our viewing guide below.
The group stage as it happened
DreamHack Masters Stockholm saw many upsets and surprises. It started with Astralis and North. Astralis lost a best of three match against North after struggling against their unorthodox play style. Astralis then almost fell to the decider match against TyLoo. They had a shaky start, but managed to pull it back, winning it 2-1. As a result, both North and Astralis will be moving to the playoffs.
In Group B, upsets were also a plenty. NaVi lost their first match 17-19 to Ghost. Later, NiP won their game against NRG. NaVi pulled their socks up and won against NRG in the elimination match and NiP beat Ghost in the Winners’ match.
At the time of writing, NaVi is battling back and forth with Ghost in the best of three elimination match. For group C and D, FaZe seemed strong again. They took 19-16 against Heroic in their opening match, then won 2-0 against OpTic.
Fnatic lost to OpTic in their opening game with a poor 16-6 performance and then lost out against Heroic in a 2-1 in the elimination match. The decider match will play out later today between Heroic and OpTic.
Finally, we have Group D. Out of nowhere, MIBR has risen from the grave. They took their first match 16-11 against HellRaisers.
Mouseports fought and won against Gambit, which put MIBR and mousesports against each other in the winners’ match. MIBR pulled out an incredible 2-0 victory against mousesports without breaking a sweat.
In the elimination match, HellRaisers beat Gambit and will later face mousesports in the decider match.
