There’s more than enough CS:GO to feast your eyes on this weekend with the continuation of ECS Season 3, showcasing some of the best CS:GO teams at present. Each team will play every other team twice, on two separate Bo1 maps.
European games kick off first at 18:00 (CET) as FaZe take on Dignitas. As with most ECS Season 3 games so far, the maps are selected beforehand. In this case, they will be playing on Inferno, a strong map for FaZe at the moment who are favoured to win this match. The two teams will play on Overpass before the French sides G2 and EnVyUs take to the virtual stage. Nuke will be played first which could give EnVyUs some confidence as their last Nuke game was a 16-2 victory over Virtus.pro.
Starting at 23:00 (CET), SK and Cloud9 will battle it out into the early hours of the morning on another two maps. This North American matchup will likely be a one-sided affair with SK asserting their dominance early on in both games. The maps are still undecided so perhaps Cloud9 will be lucky enough to land a favourable map. However, SK’s map pool is extensive so it will be tough for the underdogs to find an edge in this matchup.
Liquid and NRG will finish the night off with another two Bo1 games starting at 01:00 (CET). Liquid should be sufficiently warmed up as they played against SK last night. In light of that match, NRG should be a walk in the park for Liquid. Maps are still TBA but should be released at least a few hours beforehand.
The ECS action will continue on Saturday with more of CS:GO’s heavyweight teams fighting for a good position on the league table. Fnatic vs FaZe will be an exciting game to watch as FaZe are looking for another 6 points to overtake Fnatic for 2nd place. Likewise, EnVyUs vs Mousesports will be an opportunity for Mousesports to escape the relegation zone as they’re currently sat at 9th with 12 points.
The best has been saved until last this Sunday. Astralis will take on FaZe to defend first place in the league. Expect to see some monster clutches and tactical wizardry from both teams! Eyes will be on the NiP vs Virtus.pro game as Virtus.pro have struggled to stay above water in recent weeks. The week will finish with some classic NA action from Liquid, Cloud9, SK and Immortals. Immortals performance will depend on the trial of Vito “kNg” Giuseppe who will be on trial after the departure of Lincoln “fnx” Lau earlier in the month.
