Top 5 teams to look out for during the FACEIT London Major

The FACEIT London Major will be taking place between September 12 and September 23. It will be one of the biggest CS:GO events in history and will be one of the best ways to close off the year.

Here is a look at the top 5 teams you should be keeping an eye on during the FACEIT London Major. At the end of it all, we think these 5 teams will have the best chance at coming out on top.

#5 – Astralis

Astralis are the number one team in the world right now. After cruising through DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 with a first place finish, Astralis has since taken three first place titles, one second place, and one 3-4th finish across 5 major events.

It would be a dream to see Astralis end the year with a Major win in London. It might not happen, because they have a lot of competition to fight against, but it’d be the very best end to the year for the Danish team and they are certainly on track to at least be a top candidate for the grand finals.

#4 – FaZe

FaZe has struggled a little bit to stay on top due to the absence of Olofmeister. Surprisingly, though, despite missing arguably their best player, FaZe has still managed to perform well and stay amongst the top 3 teams in the world.

Earlier this month, Olofmeister confirmed that he had returned to playing CS:GO competitively, which means the FaZe clan is now fully ready to take back their crown.

With the FACEIT London Major being in September, Olof has a couple of months to get back into the flow of things. We cannot wait to see how he and the rest of the FaZe team performs at the Major.

#3 – NaVi

Whilst Astralis has had their team in the spotlight, NaVi has slowly been taking smaller wins in events like the CS:GO Asia Championships and StarSeries i-League Season 5. NaVi has secured themselves as one of the most explosive teams this year so far in terms of an improvement in performance.

They have always been good, but right now they are really good. Their team cohesion is perfect, something which has always been a concern for them. And on top of all of this, S1mple is still playing out of his mind, alongside some top-tier performances from his teammates.

#2 – BIG

BIG has come out of nowhere in top tier Counter Strike in this sort of underdog story. Whilst the players in BIG have always been amongst the best, they’ve never quite had enough together as a team to pull through in big events.

Recently, however, BIG has performed very well and whilst we aren’t that confident they’ll get the grand final win, we’re banking on BIG at least making it to the playoffs.

#1 – MIBR

We’re perhaps the most excited about MIBR during the FACEIT London Major. Whilst MIBR hasn’t been performing exceptionally recently, their recent acquisition of Tarik and Stewie2k brings some very important changes to the team.

By September, the current roster would have had more than enough time to practice with each other and we cannot wait to see how they perform.

What are your thoughts on the FACEIT London Major? Which teams will you be keeping an eye on, besides these five?
