StarSeries I-League S4 Announced – Here’s What To Know

StarSeries I-League Season 4 has been announced and will be showcased next year. In this article, we take a look at what we know about the event so far.

So far it’s been confirmed that season 4 of the StarSeries I-League will take place in the Kiev Cybersport Arena. The event will start on February 17 and the grand final will take place on February 25.

In total, there will be 16 teams attending the event. 11 teams will be sent invites, and 5 other teams will be given the chance to fight for a qualifying position.

With invites being sent out, this event is going to be a big one. All of the best teams in CS:GO are definitely going to turn up.

In 2017, FaZe took the win after beating Astralis in a grand final. In 2018, the FaZe roster is stronger than ever, so could they have another chance to win or will another invited team take the top spot?

Alternatively, one of the qualifying teams could pull out a miracle card and take the win instead. Out of the five qualifying team slots, two teams will be from Europe, 2 will come from North America, and one will come from Asia.

Details for the qualifiers are yet to be revealed, but it’s likely that we’ll hear more information closer to the event. When the qualifiers are revealed, we’ll be able to speculate over which teams may take part. It’s most likely that the qualifiers will be hosted online, so there will be some room for some quick and easy bets.

We don’t yet know which 11 teams will be invited to the event. If the top teams are invited, we can at least make a guess about which five teams will turn up. Here’s a look at what we think:

  • SK
  • FaZe
  • Astralis
  • NiP
  • Cloud 9

Out of the top teams above, it’s likely that SK will have the biggest chance to take the win. FaZe may work hard to redeem themselves after their previous loss against SK though. NiP, Astralis, and Cloud9 all have the potential to win, too.

It should be noted that this event will have a $300,000 prize pool, so there’s a fairly large chunk of money on the line, although nothing like the ELEAGUE Boston Major happening in January, 2018.

We’re interested to see which other teams will be invited to the event and which teams will qualify. Out of all the teams, we’re not too convinced that there will be any potential standout winners. However, we think there could be a lot of betting potential within the group stages, the quarter finals, and the semi finals.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming StarSeries I-League S4 event? Could FaZe pull out another win like they did last year?
