MDL Disneyland Paris Major Group Stage results and Playoffs

MDL Disneyland Paris Major has entered the Playoffs Stage. This stage will last for an entire week and all of the matches are worthy of watching. In this article, I will take you through the results of the Group Stage and offer some predictions for the rest of the event.

The results of the Group Stage only contained a few upsets. Apart from Fnatic and possibly Keen Gaming (because they were regarded as being stronger than Liquid at the start of the tournament), everyone who should have advanced to the Upper Bracket did that.

These were the full results of the groups:

Group A

• 1^st place: Virtus.pro
• 2^nd place: Team Liquid
• 3^rd place: Keen Gaming
• 4^th place: bestcoast

Group B

• 1^st place: Team Secret
• 2^nd place: Ninjas in Pyjamas
• 3^rd place: Chaos Esports Club
• 4^th place: Team Empire

Group C

• 1^st place: Vici Gaming
• 2^nd place: PSG.LGD
• 3^rd place: Mineski
• 4^th place: paiN Gaming

Group D

• 1^st place: Evil Geniuses
• 2^nd place: OG
• 3^rd place: Complexity Gaming
• 4^th place: Fnatic

The four teams that were expected to dominate their groups managed to do exactly that. But now we’ll have to see what they’ll do in the Playoffs. At the time of this writing, Team Secret already defeated PSG.LGD but Virtus.pro is down one map against OG.

MDL Disneyland Paris Major Playoffs predictions

MDL Disneyland Paris Major has an entire week of top matches and follows a TI structure for this stage. The big favorites are expected to be Team Secret, Vici Gaming, Evil Geniuses and possibly Virtus.pro, although they did look rather vulnerable in the Group Stage.

Other teams that could do well at the event are OG and Team Liquid. Both of them looked quite strong in the groups and keep in mind, these are the last two TI winners and they’re playing with the same rosters they had when they won The International. Both are struggling right now in the DPC rankings and both of them would greatly benefit from a top six result at this tournament.

As the matches of MDL Disneyland Paris Major unfold, we expect Team Secret and Vici Gaming to keep progressing and to have at least one of them in the Grand Final.
