Pokémon GO announces November Community Day Classic: Dratini
Pokémon GO has announced the Community Day Classic for November. They have not even hosted the official Community Day for October yet, which will feature Litwick, but Niantic is wasting no time in announcing an exciting event coming in November.
Before Pokémon trainers can catch the actual Community Day Pokémon in November, they are going to be treated to a throwback: Dratini. The Dragon Pokémon will be coming to each community for a select amount of time on November 5.
Dratini is coming for November’s Community Day Classic
Every month has a Community Day in Pokémon GO. This year, Galarian Zigzagoon, Roggenrola, Stufful and others have been featured. However, there have only been two Community Day Classics. Bulbasaur and Mudkip were featured there. Dratini will be the third and presumably final Community Day Classic this year.
On November 5 from 2-5 pm local time, Dratini will flood the communities. Trainers can go out and catch plenty of this Pokémon. The vast majority of all spawns during that time will be Dratini.
As usual, the featured Pokémon has a drastically improved chance of being shiny. On average, Pokémon found in the wild have about a 1/450 chance of being shiny. For Community Days and Community Day Classics, that number shoots to about 1/20 or so.
Evolving Dratini
During this time, trainers have to catch a lot of Dratini. Not only will they need enough to fully evolve a shiny Dragonite, they may need enough to fully evolve a regular one.
In total, to end up with a shiny version of Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite, trainers have to collect 15o candies. If they need to do the same for the non-shiny version, they’ll need an astounding total of 300. Using Pinap Berries is a great way to increase candy totals.
It is important to evolve during this time or right after it. If trainers evolve their Dratini all the way during or two hours after, they will evolve a Dragonite that knows the Charged Attack Draco Meteor. This is a rare and powerful Dragon-type attack.
During this event, a few bonuses will also be active:
- Three times as much Stardust for catching.
- Lure Modules will last three times as long (three hours in total).
- The same is true for any Incense.
- If you take snapshots of your Pokémon, you may get a surprise Dratini encounter.
Niantic has not yet announced what November’s regularly scheduled Community Day will be, but it is going to be hard to top this one.
