Guild Esports
G2 Esports vs Guild Esports
This series has different meanings for both teams. Guild Esports is planning to expand its lead and the unbeaten streak in the league, while G2 Esports wants to get a W, and move away from the relegation zone. However, achieving this isn’t as easy as it looks.
Recently, G2 brought Óscar Cañellas “mixwell” Colocho back to the roster as the replacement of Wassim “keloqz” Cista, hoping this will turn the state of affairs around. The European powerhouse played its first game with the new look against the last World Champion Acend last week. Stealing the first map point wasn’t enough for G2. Despite showing some presence against its strong opponent, mixwell and his friends fell short and lost the matchup.
This week, they will face the arguably best team of the group stage, Guild Esports. Entering the 2022 season with spot-on changes, Guild hasn’t lost a single series yet. Besides that, the roster is getting better and better individually and as a team every single week. Considering the recent form graphics of both teams, Guild Esports is the favorite one for this matchup.
FunPlus Phoenix vs Team Liquid
If everything goes according to the plan and any problem doesn’t occur, FunPlus Phoenix versus Team Liquid will be the match of the week no doubt. FPX started VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 with full swing, beating BIG and one of the best teams in the world Gambit Esports. Regardless of the convincing victories in the first two weeks, FPX showed some weaknesses from time to time and benefiting from them will be the key for Liquid.
On the other hand, Team Liquid wasn’t in the best form at the beginning of the season. Despite being in second place with two victories, the European force suffered while executing its game strategies until last week. Finally, Liquid managed to get a convincing triumph against LDN UTD in week 4.
In the series that Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen generated 40 kills and 241 ACS, Liquid was able to perform its gameplan, even though some players weren’t in their best shape. That being said, the team will need every member of its roster to step up against FunPlus Phoenix. Otherwise, it’s going to quick 2-0 in favor of FPX.
