Hogwarts Legacy Finally Getting Photo Mode in Next Update
Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 to an overwhelmingly positive reception. Since dropping worldwide, the game set at the heart of the Wizarding World has sold more than 15 million copies – but Warner Bros. isn’t done with it yet. It was revealed today that the game is set to receive an overhaul of an update in just a few days. At the centre of that update is a long-awaited feature: photo mode.
On June 6, the Summer Update will be released worldwide across all platforms. It’s an indication that the developer – and publisher – is still interested in the magical, open-world epic that turned so many heads more than a year ago. Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy was kind of a one-shot title, with it being confirmed that no DLC was ever planned to be released to expand the game further.
Take Your Snaps
The most exciting element of the Summer Update for Hogwarts Legacy is the arrival of photo mode. This will finally allow players to pose and take pictures of the game’s gorgeous scenery and combat sequences – but it hasn’t been confirmed if they’ll be true to the Wizarding World with dynamic, ever-moving elements. What has been confirmed is a lengthy list of mechanics and adjustment options:
- Tilt
- Depth of Field
- Focus
- Exposure/Contrast/Saturation
- Artistic Filters
- Character Poses
Alongside the photo mode comes a range of other attributes, including a new quest, the ability to reset skill points, and brand-new outfits. Players will be able to wear Harry Potter’s iconic spectacles from June 6 onwards. In addition, there’s a tantalising broom with a stunning trailing effect and a lavish Hippogriff mount that was once a PlayStation-exclusive pre-order bonus.
It’s not yet known if Avalanche Software – the game’s developer – will produce any more content for the game, but this alone is a fine addition to an already superb game. As one of the best-selling games of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy already has a prestigious spot in the history books, and further appeasing the fan base is little more than the icing on the cake.
