Heroic+ Dungeons Coming to WoW WotLK Classic

While World of Warcraft Classic only experienced a few changes, and The Burning Crusade experienced a couple more, when it comes to Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard seems to be doing quite a lot of things. Next to a couple of announcements that they made earlier, such as changing the loot and raid locks for certain raids, this time around, they are announcing the addition of Heroic+ to the game.

What exactly is Heroic+?

Those who play the retail version of the game probably have some kind of PTSD from all the Mythic+ they ran away from to the WoW Classic servers for, but do not worry, the system is nothing like it.

Unlike the Mythic+ on the retail version of the game, Heroic+ is going to be a bit more casual by not having a timer, but instead, just stronger encounters through the dungeon. One thing that is in common with Mythic+ is that the loot players receive at the end of the dungeon is going to be better than the non-plus version.

It is important to note that Heroic+ will not be available on the WoW WotLK release date, but instead, it will be available in Phase 2 once Ulduar as a raid tier is released. The reason behind this, along with other major WotLK changes that are released with Ulduar, is that the rewards in Heroic+ will be those from previous raid tiers.

What kind of gear will be available?

In Phase 1, Heroics are going to drop their regular items, which players will highly seek out to get the best gear possible to conquer Naxxramas, Obsidian Sanctum, and Eye of Eternity in 10 or 25-player raids. However, with the release of Ulduar, in order to allow players to catch up a bit, players will be able to turn regular Heroic dungeons into Heroic+, where they will be rewarded with 10-man items from the previous raid tier.

That means that in Phase 2, Heroic+ will drop item level 200 items that can be found across the three raids. In Phase 3, the items will be item level 219 like in Ulduar 10-man as well as Trial of the Champion. In Phase 4, the item level will be 232, just like the final three dungeons added to WotLK classic: Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection.

In our opinion, we believe that the addition of Heroic+ is quite good for the game if the encounters are balanced correctly. Of course, we are still a few months away from having access to Ulduar. Still, until then, we hope you manage to get your Immortal and Undying titles along with the fantastic meta-achievement-related proto drakes.
