For the first time in LEC history, a player from the second division will make it directly to the LEC, as Kamil “Kamiloo” Haudegond is set to join Team Heretics for 2025.
According to a report by Sheep Esports, Kamil “Kamiloo” Haudegond has reached an agreement to join Team Heretics to be the starting player for the 2025 season. The mid laner will be the first-ever to be promoted directly into the premier league from the second division (tier-3) after playing with Izi Dream in the latest season.
While the sudden promotion can raise some doubts, Kamiloo rightfully earned his shot in the LEC with one of the most dominant performances in the past year. The French player won the MVP title in Spring and quickly became one of the most respected players in the ERL scene, gaining interest from other top teams in the scene. According to Sheep, academy teams Karmine Corp Blue, Team BDS Academy, and Vitality.Bee were all interested in the 19-year-old, and even MAD Lions KOI were evaluating the option, before signing with LCS prodigy jojopyun.
Team Heretics, who also wanted jojopyun, found themselves having to decide between Kamiloo and Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié, who played for Team Vitality in 2024. In the end, Kamiloo was Team Heretics’ final decision.
With this one last move, Team Heretics seems to have found its full lineup for the upcoming season. Kamiloo will play alongside top laner Carlsen, former BDS jungler Sheo, ADC Flakked, and support Stend. With two veterans and three rising talents, Team Heretics is looking to take a different approach from the one used in the past season, which consisted of a full squad of veterans with the likes of Wunder, Perkz, and Jankos.
