
Patch 8.24b Rundown
Likely the last patch for this year given by Riot doesn’t implement any small changes; Patch 8.24b consists of a few changes to improve balance. This rundown includes the most important changes in 8.24b.
Champion changes
Akali – Riot has finally targeted Akali’s shroud with attention, with certain conditions being added into her shroud. Whenever Akali goes into her shroud, her champion will be outlined, given better information to enemies. In addition, targeted abilities and “uncancellable basic attacks” will now hit Akali even when she begins to enter shroud. Re-stealthing will also take longer in early levels. This patch is a major hit to Akali’s shroud, and to somehow compensate, the duration nerf has been reverted.
Caitlyn – Base damage has been increased by 20 at all levels, however, the “passthrough” damage has been reduced from 67% to 60%. This will reward Caitlyn from hitting her Q on the first target more. Ace in the Hole’s (R) range has been dramatically increased to 3500 at all ranks.
Corki – Missile Barrage (R) has received a fair damage buff, 15 at all levels for regular rockets, and 30 damage at all levels for empowered rockets.
Pyke – Q damage to secondary targets had been reduced from 50% to 30%, making it much harder for Pyke to push waves. His ultimate has also been hit, with the execute threshold being reduced at later levels, up to 65 at level 18.

Singed – Fling percentage health damage increased at earlier levels from 4/5/6/7/8% to 6/6.5/7/7.5/8%. Overall gives singed more damage in the early game without overpowering the late game.
Tristana – E base damage, AD scaling ratio and maximum damage has all been increased. This change intends to increase Tristana’s viability given her low play rate and presence in games.
Varus – W percentage health damage increased at later levels, up to 14% from 10% at level 18 uncharged, and 21% from 15% charged. R base damage increased at earlier levels, making Varus stronger at all points of the game.
Item changes
Ardent Censer – Bonus for heals and shield increased from 8% to 10%.
Forbidden Idol – Cooldown reduction doubled from 5% to 10%.
Mikael’s Crucible – Bonus for heals and shield increased from 15% to 20%.
Redemption – Bonus for heals and shield increased from 8% to 10%.
Tiamat – Cost increased from 1200 to 1325, however, upgrade cost for the other Hydra items has been reduced by the same amount, making its final price the same.
While these changes are quite substantial for shielding / healing supports, it won’t be game breaking like the ardent censer meta.
