Snapdragon Mobile Open Final to feature Asphalt Legends UNITE

The Snapdragon Mobile Open Final at Gamescom 2024, which will feature a variety of esports events including the Brawl Stars Championship LCQ, will be playing host to the first offline esports event for the game.

Eight players will qualify for the event through the Season 5 TLE and will battle it out for a share of the $10,000 prize pool on Aug. 25. While Asphalt Legends UNITE is set to be the first cross-platform game of the franchise, this esports event will be played on mobile.

Asphalt Legends UNITE is the first expansion to the car racing game. While it’s an expansion, the scale of the changes are such that it can be called a completely different game.

The most exciting part of this expansion is that the game is becoming completely cross-platform across mobile, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Currently, the game is available on all these platforms, except for PlayStation, where it will be released soon.

Besides this, the game is getting an upgraded engine which has refined its graphics. Additionally, the UI has been completely overhauled as well giving the title a refreshing new look.

Asphalt Legends UNITE is set to launch on July 17. Thus, the event at Gamescom will take place after its global launch.

The announcement of the Snapdragon Mobile Open Final isn’t a big surprise. Gameloft has been pushing an esports scene for Asphalt for a while now. Even the official Asphalt Legends UNITE website has a separate section for esports. Currently, however, the section only shows a coming soon option.

With complete cross-platform play, it will be interesting to see how the new esports circuit is handled.
