PUBG’s Public NA Qualifier for $2M tournament starts next week

If you didn’t know already, PUBG Corp. is set to host one of the biggest esports tournaments ever later this year, and qualifiers will be open for all players to try.

The first round of qualifiers will be taking place next week – players from the North America region will have a chance to fight their way into the main event, but there’s also a smaller prize pool on the line for the qualifier itself.

Here’s all you need about the upcoming PUBG NA qualifier.

PUBG Global Invitational Berlin – North American Qualifier Details

The North American qualifier will begin on May 24 – a total of 320 team slots are available for any squads from United States, Canada, and Mexico to sign up.
If you want to sign up to the qualifier, you can do so here. Be quick – the slots are filling up fast.

To be able to qualify, your team must have at least two players from United States, Canada, or Mexico. Players also cannot participate in more than one qualifier event – you must also be 18 years or older to qualify.

The first round of matches will take place on May 24 – all 320 teams will need to go to the Challengermode tournament page to find out which server they need to join. There will be 16 servers in total, with 20 teams in each server. Each team will play a total of four matches. The top 10 teams from the first round will move to the second round.

The second round will begin on May 25, – there will be another four matches per team, this time spread across eight servers of 20 teams each. Once again, the top 10 teams from each server will advance to the next round.

Round 3 is where it will really count. Taking place on May 26 and May 27, the remaining 80 times will be split into four lobbies of 20 teams each. Teams will play a total of eight games across two days and only the top five players will be invited to the offline qualifier finals in Burbank, CA.

If you are lucky enough to qualify for the offline qualifiers, you’ll be asked to attend an event from June 22 to June 24.

There will be 12 matches to play across three days and only the top three teams will qualify for the main $2 million event. The 20 teams that make it to the North American qualifier will be rewarded with prize money.

Here’s a rundown of the prize winnings:

  • 1st – $32,000
  • 2nd – $24,000
  • 3rd – $18,000
  • 4th – $12,000
  • 5th – 6th – $8,000
  • 7th – 8th – $6,000
  • 9th – 12th – $4,000
  • 13th – 16th – $3,000
  • 17th – 20th – $2,000

During the qualifying rounds, teams will be rewarded points based on their position and overall kill count. 15 points are awarded per kill and points based on your position are given. You get 500 points for your team coming first, 410 points for 2nd, and 345 for coming third. The full point system can be seen here.
