Spooky season is here – don’t miss out on these limited time Halloween events

Halloween is without a doubt one of the most fun holidays of the year. Sure, birthdays are great, and Christmas is too, of course, but on Halloween most of the world gets to be as goofy or spooky as they want to be. Of course, a lot of game developers pay tribute to this fun tradition by having in-game Halloween events that players can take part in.

In addition to things like Halloween Steam sales, here are some of the best Halloween in-game events this year – don’t miss out!

Halloween Terror, Overwatch

Blizzard’s prime shooter has several weeks of Halloween Terror fun – this event has been going on for a bit already, and players can not only play limited time modes but also win some limited skins by playing arcade game modes. Junkenstein’s revenge is the name of the special modes, and they are very popular with fans. Along with all of that, every Halloween, Blizzard adds new Halloween skins for some of its characters – highlights include Lucio’s Gorgon skin, Baptiste’s Vampire skin, Orisa’s Demon skin, and Tracer’s Will-O-Wisp skin.

Fortnitemares, Fortnite

Fortnite’s Halloween event is called Fortnitemares. Last year this event introduced a new mode, challenges, and cosmetic rewards. This year, Epic has already teased and released some appropriately spooky skins for their event, along with some new items and other content. Since this event hasn’t started yet, we don’t know exactly what to expect, but the past two years it was plenty of fun – check it out!

Doom in the Tomb, Hearthstone

Hearthstone’s Halloween event is called Doom in the Tomb. The setup is as simple as it is fun – the Headless Horseman has invaded desert tombs and filled them up with powerful relics. This event has been going on for the past two weeks, and players have been able to snag rare cards and special content by participating in the event. Additionally, there is also a Dual-Class Arena dress-up party event – you can pick a hero, a hero power and card offerings will then be based on BOTH classes instead of just one. Players receive a free arena ticket in order to try out the mode when they log in.

Doctor’s Curse, Rainbow Six

Rainbow Six also has a Halloween event – it’s called Doctor’s Curse, and it’s a lot more on the scary side than some of the others on this list. Until November 6, players have the chance to investigate a doctor that made his home in a closed Theme Park, only to perform horrifying experiments. Now the place is crawling with monsters and horror, and only a band of exterminators can get rid of them all – if they manage. This mode is a lot less cute than the other entries on the list, but it’s a great limited-time mode!

Tales from the Rift, League of Legends

In League of Legends, Halloween is called Tales from the Rift 2019 and features special character skins inspired by regional festive cultures. There are monsters, witches, vampires, and trick-or-treaters. Of course, the map itself also undergoes some changes, as do some of the items. This event has been running for a bit, and will conclude on October 31 – if you haven’t checked it out yet, hurry – the clock is ticking!
