World of Warcraft Battle For Azeroth Pre-Patch goes live today

Blizzard plans on launching the World of Warcraft Battle For Azeroth expansion on August 14. Nearly a month before that important moment for the fans of the franchise, the videogame developer rolls out a pre-patch. It is scheduled for today July 17 and as expected, will bridge the gap between the current game and the upcoming expansion. Gameplay changes are in order, but also plenty of content so active players are entitled to be enthusiastic.

The arrival of a brand-new War Mode, changes to the PvP talents and the introduction of World of Warcraft Communities were announced. The goal is to create hype before the new expansion arrives and to bring back many of the inactive customers. Legion proved to be a surprisingly successful installment after a significant dip in the number of players over the previous years. Battle For Azeroth promises to go back to the roots of the franchise and address much of the criticism of veteran gamers.

World of Warcraft communities have arrived

The WoW Battle For Azeroth Pre-Patch marks the arrival of a new feature. World of Warcraft Communities is supposed to bring people together, regardless of their in game preference and playing style. Players from different realms will be able to participate in special community events as a part of this highly interactive project. The best part is that active players won’t have to forsake their membership to their guilt in order to join the communities.

The new feature will grant players access to the Blizzard Groups, so they can connect with their friends playing other games. The Blizzard battle.net desktop app will be used as a conduit by allowing players to invite their friends to their group. There are very few restrictions, such as the one of inviting characters from the opposing faction. Otherwise, the process is straightforward and invitations are made by sending a link or providing a code. The community interface will make it easy for players to chat through voice or text, manage and create new channels.

Competitive PvP continues until August 14

Legion PvP Season 7 has ended, but active gamers will be able to participate in a special postseason player versus player season. This will guarantee a swift transition while keeping players sharp for the new PVP season. Based on their performance, players will receive their rewards, with mounts and titles taking two weeks. The end of season rewards are based on their faction, so players should wait before transferring their character to another realm.

The arrival of the pre-expansion patch marks the beginning of the special postseason, during which players gain catch-up gear. They will find these rewards in strongboxes, so even though there are no conquest points, titles or mounts to collect, there’s no shortage of incentives. Players shouldn’t be worried if they notice that the PVP leaderboards won’t be available. Blizzard plans on taking them offline until the beginning of the Battle for Azeroth PvP season on August 14.
