Blizzard Simplifies the World of Warcraft Pricing Model
World of Warcraft had its ups and downs over the years, but it remains the most popular MMORPG in the world. Blizzard intends to keep it that way and releases new content every year, with a major expansion scheduled for 2018. At the same time, the company tries to keep the game balance, user-friendly and in order to achieve that, it addresses many of the requests made by players.
They found it worthwhile to greatly simplify the process of subscribing and paying for the MMORPG. Until now, players were expected to purchase the Battle chest, whenever they were ready to play the new expansion. There were many voices stating that it was no longer necessary to require players to buy the original game and Blizzard was happy to oblige. In the wake of the new changes, players only need to order the game and pay their monthly subscriptions, to have fun with Legion and Battle for Azeroth.
The monthly subscription consists of $15 per month, an amount that has remained virtually unchanged since the beginning. Blizzard tries to keep World of Warcraft relevant and increase its presence in the e-sports arena. The upcoming expansion shows a lot of promise and the number of active players is expected to surge. The decision to cut out the unnecessary step of purchasing the base game and upgrading it to the latest installment comes at the perfect time.
World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth Costs $49.99
For the cool price of $50, players can prepurchase the Battle for Azeroth expansion and play it as soon as it goes live. The fans have the option of spending $10 more for the Complete Collection, who are also advised to check out the new Recruit-a-Friend rewards. By using this feature, they can send customized email invitations to their buddies, to get a month of game time free and epic in-game mounts. The latter are the main incentive for actually doing this and new pets are also up for grabs.
Existing subscribers will have their accounts upgraded to Legion immediately and without being charged a penny. The global launch is within sight and players can already enjoy the changes made by the videogame developer. New content was added, changes were made to the PVP system and everything is set for the major event scheduled for August 14. Players who jump on the bandwagon and play World of Warcraft for the first time will receive 30 days of game time for free.
For the first time in franchise history, Blizzard will release the game at the same time across the globe. This means that players from Americas, Europe, Taiwan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand will be able to play simultaneously. Players are invited to go over the complete launch schedule to see if any changes are made before the official release date. We already know that the Americas will launch a bit early, for the purpose of aligning with the other regions.
