Daytrade and Soniqs win the PCS 7 qualify for PGC 2022

The PUBG Continental Series (PCS) 7, the last chance for teams to qualify for the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2022 has ended in the Americas and APAC regions.

While Daytrade Gaming came out on top in the APAC region, the mantle was sealed by Soniqs over in the Americas. Both teams have secured direct spots at the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2022. Besides this, all teams from these two regions at the PGC 2022 have also been locked in.

PUBG PCS 7 NA APAC

Soniqs wins the PCS 7 Americas

North America’s Soniqs, which also won the PCS 6 earlier this year, successfully defended their title to show their dominance in the Americas region.

Soniqs started their journey in the PCS 7 APAC on a high as they got the chicken dinner in the first match of the tournament itself along with 15 kills. They had a great first week with six top-three finishes from 15 matches.

Despite this, some early eliminations in some other matches saw the North American squad finish week one in second place, behind eUnited.

Week two, on the other hand, was a completely different affair. They were absolutely dominant across the 15 matches with eight top-four finishes, five of which were chicken dinners. This pushed the team to the top of the standings table with 313 points, 61 ahead of the second-placed eUnited. The overall standings for the tournament are as follows.

Earning 313 points is absolute insanity, and to think they VSS’d the last match, just adds salt to injury.

Daytrade Gaming crowned APAC champion in the PCS 7

Over in the Asia-Pacific Region, Daytrade Gaming also successfully managed to defend its title. The team got off to a weak start in the first week. While they showed glimpses of their past performance, the team could only manage one chicken dinner from 15 matches. This put them in fifth place in the overall standings.

Just like Soniqs did in NA, though, Daytrade were able to completely turn the tides around in week two. They started week two with a first-place finish and didn’t look back. They ended the week with seven top-three finishes. The Thai team was also extremely aggressive as they picked up 93 kills from the 15 matches in week two.

With this performance, the team was able to clinch the title of the PCS 7 APAC champions. They ended the tournament with 263 total points, just eight ahead of Cerberus Esports. The overall standings are as follows.
