DreamHack Open Summer 2020 – Group Stage Recap

Since DreamHack Open Summer 2020 is being played regionally, here, you can find important things that happened in every region.

Europe

Truth be told, the European region was straight-forward. Both BIG and Complexity topped the groups easily. On top of that, OG and Heroic looked good as well.

Given the fact that MAD Lions made roster changes, no one expected anything from them as they finished bottom of their group. Alongside the Danish CS:GO roster, Endpoint had nothing to fight for as well since this team is heavily lacking in individual skill.

Group B, however, was much more competitive. In the end, two CIS-based teams (ForZe, Spirit) were eliminated as they were not good enough.

North America

Ever since Evil Geniuses dropped out of the event, we kinda knew how things would turn out. Liquid and FURIA topped their groups without breaking a sweat. Furthermore, Chaos, and surprisingly, Team One clinched the second playoffs spot. It was a nice rebound for Team One after they lost the final just a few days ago to Triumph at the ESEA Season 33 finals.

As expected Ze Pugz Godz and Triumph had nothing to fight for and they were eliminated alongside Cloud9 and Yeah.

DreamHack Open Summer 2020 Betting Predictions

As promised, we wil provide you with several predictions that should help you while betting on this CS:GO event. Let’s get straight into it.

FURIA vs Chaos

This is by far the easiest betting prediction today. FURIA is looking really strong right now and they are the biggest favorites to go all the way and win DreamHack Open Summer 2020 North America. On the other hand, Chaos is simply a mediocre team that has nothing to look for in this match-up.

When it comes to map pool, we believe that these team are evenly matched. However, if we are to talk about individual skill, this is where FURIA thrives. Odds wise, betting on FURIA would not yield so much profit. However, a straight 2-0 will put you in serious profit.

Prediction: FURIA to win 2-0

BIG vs OG

BIG is by far the most dominant team on DreamHack Open Summer 2020. They have bested everyone they played against so far and there is a reason why they are #1 team in the world right now.

OG, however, did not impress us at all. Despite beating Spirit and forZe, OG had nothing to offer against Complexity. Map pool wise, this will be a one-way street. BIG has a big advantage here, even if OG goes for that Inferno pick.

All in all, we only see one team coming out on top in this best of 3 series and that is the German CS:GO roster, BIG. They are in a much better form, they have a stronger map pool and individually, BIG is looking great. Sadly, odds reflect that. If you scan through various betting sites, you will find out that the average odds on BIG to beat OG are roughly around 1.4.

Prediction: BIG to win

Paired together in a two-fold bet, they would net you 1.75x return at GG.bet. Not a bad haul considering the betslip is a sure thing.
