EVO 2020 trailer released: the fighting games event returns to Las Vegas
By now a staple in every fighting games fan’s calendar. As we can see from the EVO 2020 trailer, the next iteration of the popular Evolution Championship Series or EVO tournament is coming back to a familiar location – Las Vegas. The last US-based competition – the 2019 EVO that took place in August – was also held in Las Vegas.
Months later, we are now approaching the end of the fighting game season of 2019 – most big competition circles are already gearing up for the next season’s launch early next year. As for the EVO, this year’s event marked the 21st iteration of the popular event, with next year being the 22nd.
Now, the new iteration returns to the same location yet again – the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas. Just like last year, fans can book hotel rooms and the prestigious Mandalay Bay hotel in time for the competition that is happening between July 31st and August 2nd.

The Official EVO 2020 Trailer
The official EVO 2020 trailer for the upcoming event has already been released, and it features several highlights from previous events, such as rivalries between skilled players, big wins and other exciting moments. Not all of the games featured in the EVO 2020 trailer have been announced officially for the event, and it’s more than possible for new ones to join the line-up a little further down the line.
More details will likely be announced come January or February early next year. Independent of this event, there will also be another EVO Japan, as has been the case every year since 2016. Next year’s EVO Japan 2020 has already announced its headlining game – it will be Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Further titles, details and more will be announced early next year – traditionally, the Japan event will happen a little later in the year than the main Championship.
