FURIA vs GODSENT – Battle of the CAPSLOCK at BLAST Showdown

We have reached the semi-finals of the Blast Premier Spring Showdown in North America. FURIA is facing GODSENT on Saturday to determine which of the capslocked teams is better.

What can we expect from this match?

Kscerato CSGO

Two opponents on a high win curve

FURIA are coming into this match on the back of a sterling performance against ATK in the second quarterfinal match of the BLAST Spring Showdown North America, thrashing them 16-8 in Inferno and 16-1 in Vertigo. It was a thoroughly dominant performance from the outset, which resulted in lesser time spent in each map.

The dominance was led by Kscerato, who had 38 kills with just 14 deaths at an average damage per round of 99.5. Drop was not too far behind, producing 37 kills with 16 deaths at an average damage per round of 90.6. Art had the most kills with 39 and also the highest average damage per round of 101.5.

GODSENT are coming into this after beating Evil Geniuses in straight maps as well: 16-8 in Overpass and 16-11 in Mirage. EG are no pushovers even though they are still rebuilding their team. It was the kind of performance that would inspire the team with plenty of confidence going forward, which they will desperately need against a steady Furia team.

For Godsent, it was Dumau that was in unstoppable form, with 50 kills and 32 deaths at an average damage per round of 103.8 and a KAST of 72.5%. He had a 1v2 clutch in the second map and even managed two AK HS kills in a bombsite retake in the first map. He was helped along ably by Hen1, who had 39 kills with 25 deaths at an average damage per round of 84.5. Latto was stable without being too flashy, with 34 kills and 28 deaths at an ADR or 78.7.

This will be a matchup between two teams that have made significant progress in the CS:GO pro scene. They are both all-Brazilian rosters. Furia have made so much progress that they have now moved up to No. 8 in the CS:GO rankings while Godsent have been in middling form but have still managed to pick up speed, to move to No. 29 in the world.

FURIA vs GODSENT Match Breakdown

Kscerato will be Furia’s offensive weapon. He has averaged 0.73 kills and just 0.58 deaths per round, with an average damage per round of 80.8. He has been their leader, preserving his life to be able to take Furia deep in rounds and protecting his in-game economy. Drop has been middling as his recent numbers indicate, with 0.59 kills and as many deaths in the last three months of pro CS:GO action.

On the other hand, it will be Dumau, who will be expected to pick up the pieces for Godsent considering he has been in steady form, which includes 0.76 kills and 0.62 deaths per round in the last three months of action at an average damage per round of 82.1. Hen1 will have to keep up his recent form and improve on his longer-form momentum. He has averaged 0.62 kills and 0.60 deaths per round in this same analysis period.

Overall, it feels like a FURIA win. With Kscerato at the helm, they have too much strength and confidence in their set-up. This is a fairly high-profile match, considering it the semis of the BLAST Premier.
