Team Liquid to finally break away this weekend – LCS Week 6 Breakdown

Cloud9 and Team Liquid have not relented at the top of the LCS spring season’s standings. Both teams came through unscathed from last week’s matches as they continued to roll on in the LCS this season. Both teams are jointly atop the standings with a 9-2 record.

Will TL or C9 come out ahead this weekend? We attempt to break down this week’s matches.

Cloud9 vs Team Liquid – Match of the Season

Firstly, there is one undeniable blockbuster match this weekend, with Cloud9 facing Team Liquid to start off Sunday’s matches in the LCS. According to bookmakers, it is a fairly even-money matchup considering both these teams have been at the top of their game. Team Liquid is a good bet at odds of 1.80 on Betway. And here’s why.

Bot laner Hans Sama is now starting to find his feet for his new franchise. He has managed returns of 4.45 kills, 1.91 deaths and 6.55 assists per map at a KDA of 5.76 and a creep score of 330.45. Over in the middle lane, Bjergsen has not required much time getting acclimatized to the pace of play after his retirement. He has put up 3.45 kills, 1 death and 7.09 assists per map at a KDA of 10.55 and a creep score of 301.82.

This is one of the strongest mid and bot laner pairs in the LCS. The rest of the Liquid roster are perfectly capable of sustaining their excellence right through this split. And that is why I would back Liquid to beat Cloud9 on Sunday.

Notable LCS Week 6 matches

There are some other interesting narratives around the LCS for this weekend as well. For example, FlyQuest quickly returned to contention for the playoffs with two straight wins last weekend to move to third on the spring standings. They will face Counter Logic Gaming on Saturday as heavy favorites and 100 Thieves on Sunday as underdogs. FlyQuest, in their current form, might be an interesting choice on both of those days for different reasons.

Bot laner Johnsun has been one of the key reasons for FlyQuest’s success this season. He has managed returns of 4.09 kills, 1.91 deaths and 5.73 assists per map at a KDA of 5.14 with a creep score of 324.64. If he can continue his resurgence, then FlyQuest has a chance of making it four wins from four.

If you are looking for one reliable bet, then you could consider Evil Geniuses in their Sunday match against Team SoloMid. Evil Geniuses are lingering in the mid table, with five wins in 11 matches. TSM, on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom of the spring table with just 2 wins out of 11 games. Evil Geniuses to beat TSM is currently at odds of 1.35 on Betway.

Danny has been in great killing form in the bottom lane but also has a high death rate, which includes returns of 4.73 kills, 2.18 deaths and 3.45 assists per map at a KDA of 3.75 with a creep score of 361.82. Jojopyun in the middle lane has been a bit of a letdown, with just 2.55 kills, 2.64  deaths and 3.91 assists per map at a KDA of 2.45. If EG get more from these two players, then this season could look very different for them.
