Ludwig Nickelodeon All-Stars Tournament to feature $20,000 Prize Pool
Ludwig has become known in the Smash Bros community as a long-term competitor in Smash Bros. More recently though, he’s become one of the biggest Twitch streamers and an organizer of both Smash Melee, and Smash Ultimate Tournaments. Ludwig is about to return to streaming, and he’s bringing a new tournament about to celebrate. The Ludwig Nick All-Stars tournament is the second Nickelodeon All-Stars Smash event being held amongst Smash Bros pros. This is what you need to know about the event:
The Ludwig Nick All-Stars tournament is going to be hosted on October 16th. The tournament is running the game Nick All-Stars, while it is a tie in game featuring cartoon characters it is a Smash Bros clone in actuality. The gameplay is very similar, which suits these rosters of pros very well. The tournament is going to be pulling in teams from across both Smash Bros Ultimate and Melee, with some big-name players from both games taking place.
Ludwig Nick All-Stars Tournament
The Ludwig Nick All-Stars tournament is going to be a crew battle tournament. This is a format that gets some use in fighting games, but it isn’t the standard for Smash Bros. This is a format that works well as an exhibition, so suits a Twitch tournament great. Two teams are formed out of a number of players. They then compete in matches, one after each other.
The first players for each team will start the event off competing in a stock match. The player that wins will get to carry their stock over into the next round. Essentially the two teams compete in one large, long match. Stock is carried over. The players themselves are the stock of a team. The Ludwig Nick All-Stars tournament is going to be using this format, which should make for some interesting viewing in a newer game.

The format in use for this event is bigger than normal for a crew battle. However, it does suit the more unpredictable gameplay we can expect with pros reacting to a newer game. Having the players split between Melee and Ultimate is a great way to divide up players. It might even put the difference in gameplay styles between the two games on sharper display. These are the teams that are going to be competing.
Team Melee
- Mang0 (Captain)
- S2J
- Moky
- Plup
- Wizzrobe
- iBDW
- Axe
- Zain
- Sfat
- Albert
Team Ultimate
- ESAM (Captain)
- Sparg0
- Aaron
- Maister
- Marss
- Larry Lurr
- Dabuz
- MKLeo
- VoiD
- Coney
Why Nickelodeon All-Stars?
This tournament is a new kind of format and one that’s sure to bring out some unique action in the players on board. However, one weird question is why a Nickelodeon tie in-game? This is the second major tournament for this title in recent weeks. The game has a surface level resemblance to Smash Bros. This combined with the general fun of playing a more casual game has hit a bit of a nerve with the Smash Bros community. The marketing budget behind the title is helping out a little here too!
This is Ludwig’s big return to streaming. However, the Ludwig Nick All-Stars event is going to be a fun mish-mash of Ultimate and Melee pros playing a new game. Make sure you follow along on Ludwig’s stream!
